McDermott Glass Studio is a glassblowing studio and gallery run by a talented husband and wife team. The artists are gracious, friendly, and a treat to talk to, sharing their obvious passion and explaining their craft. Visitors can watch the glassblowing process, which is described as an amazing art and dance, and explore the gallery filled with beautiful, bold, and imaginative glass pieces. Some works show an attractive Asian approach to color and design. The studio property includes a backyard with whimsical glass touches in the landscaping and is home to friendly dogs. The experience is highly recommended, with many calling it the best or highlight of their trip, well worth a visit. The studio is across from Lamberts Market, though its street-side sign is quite small.
