Pros,
A lovely quiet campground with no frills. No cable TV, no public internet, no video arcade. Kids learn to play, ride bikes, color with sidewalk chalk, make up games, have fun without a screen!
Access to the Cape Cod canal and Scusset Beach make this a great spot spring, summer and fall.
New this year, fire rings in some sites.
Rangers are helpful and friendly.
Cons:
Many drive too fast, ignoring the 15 mph speed limit and stop signs. ( There are kids and adults walking, riding bikes everywhere)
Also new this year is the drivers going the wrong way on the one way streets. The rules apply to everyone!
Please repaint the one way arrows and stop lines!
Upgraded bath house would be lovely. New showers are needed. Nothing has changed in the bathrooms in at least 15 years!
DCR, you have a hidden gem here. Just a bit of TLC would make this a five star area!

Went the beach, not campground. It was very nice, the water wasn't cold either. Love Scussett Beach

A little noisy on weekends but not bad. Staff are very nice folks.
Restrooms: Very clean. Dated but clean
Dog-friendliness: Lots of room to walk dogs. Lots of little noisy dogs that bark at anything that moves.

One of the cleanest State parks I've camped at. Full facilities (No washer/Dryer). Most importantly, walk to the beach.
Playground: Small, older style
Restrooms: Full facilities
Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly in Campground. Not so much at the Beach. Unless it's a Service animal. You'll won't get past the Live guards.

Very nice camp ground, there are plenty of spots for both campers using tents and RVs to plug in. Each spot comes with a fire pit to cook food in well at least the spots that are using tents have the fire pits which is a nice option! But overall Scusset Beach/Scusset Beach campground are very nice areas for day beach trips and or camping there to!
Playground: It has a nice playground area for the kids and big field for other field activities like throwing the Frisbee, kicking the soccer ball, tag, etc.
Restrooms: There is a restroom area for both males and females/ no portapottys which is a nice option!
Dog-friendliness: There is plenty of room for your dogs to run free! I'm not 100% sure though if dogs have to be on the leash though the whole time they are there. Very nice area with paths though for them to sniff around
Picnic area: There are picnic tables and places to cook food (on built in grills) all over the camp grounds which is a nice commodity!

Loved this campground!! Our first stay at a state campground and it was only overnight, but we will be back! Right near the beach, spacious padded sites. Great walking for the dogs and access to the biking path along the canal.

The campground is wonderful, so much room in between campsites. The bathroom/showers are clean and located centrally. The only thing is that I wish each campsite was allowed a campfire. It was so disappointing not to have a fire at night ?

This is the best campground ever!! The rv camp sites are so spread out and roomy with grass and shade. They also offer places to tent camp. The shower and bathroom facilities are clean and nice. The showers are free and have good water pressure. When camping here you are close to the beach and the canal. I love walking down by the canal and watching the boats and shops go by and the tug boats pushing the big barges. If you camp here or even just in the area you should go to the Canal Visitor Center on the other side of the canal. There is a nice wide path all along the canal to ride or walk along. I just loved it here.
