I went to the Hollister store to return a few items, and one of them didn’t have the tag — but I had the original receipt. As soon as I walked in, I saw a scarf on a mannequin and grabbed it because I wanted to exchange my item for it. The employee immediately told me he couldn’t accept my return because it didn’t have a tag.
When I mentioned I picked the scarf from the mannequin, he suddenly had to “call the manager” to see if that was okay — as if customers aren’t allowed to take merchandise from a mannequin? That already felt uncomfortable and unnecessary.
Then the manager (Kevin) told me they couldn’t accept my item because of “store manager policy.” I reviewed the Hollister return policy myself, and nowhere does it say anything about needing the tag if you have the original receipt. When I confronted them with their own policy, they still refused.
I then asked for the names of the employees helping me, and they refused to give their names, took off their badges, and one of the girls sarcastically told me, “You can read this,” and when I asked her name she said it was “Bob” — while the employees in the back were laughing. (Her name is clearly not Bob). Completely unprofessional.
Overall, I’ve never been treated with so much disrespect in a store. The lack of professionalism, the attitude, and the way they handled the situation was honestly embarrassing. I left angry, frustrated, and disappointed. Hollister needs to train their staff better and actually follow their own policies.

I really like shopping at this Hollister. It’s nice and organized inside. I also love how they are quick with getting new and trendy stuff in stock.

Loved my shopping experience! Jessica and her customer service is amazing! I went to look for a specific pair of jeans but they didn’t have them; she showed me similar options and so she gave me 4 jeans to try on and after so many, i found the perfect fit thanks to her! She deserves a raise! Thanks Jessica!
