I had to do an order pick up due to having a puppy in the car and being on bed rest due to pregnancy. The phone lines were down at this location, so there was a sign stating to be patient and the order will be out shortly. I waited 30 minutes before contacting customer service. I told them I'd be willing to wait another 15 because I needed most items for after the baby is born. Multiple employees clearly saw my car during their smoke breaks and still ignored. I wasted a good chunk of my day. I was offered a whopping $20. This store is awful! Never again

Strictly giving this because i go here for shopping allll the time. The happiest workers ever. I love how they are allowed to chat and laugh - i think they are quicker and more productive because of it. That being said, this store is TINY, great for basics. That's about it.

I've frequented this S&S for probably a decade. it's small store and good for a quick shopping trip. Most of the staff are decent with the exception of this older female cashier. This woman is absolutely vile, to be fair I'd be vile if I were her age and still having to work but seriously she in unhinged. She yells and argues with customers, throws groceries as she rings them up. she's damaged at least two of my orders in recent visits. I don't understand why management forces her to work on registers when she clearly doesn't enjoy it or interacting with customers. let the woman just bag or just let her retire already.

This store is the epitome of why I regret moving to this area six years ago and am pleased that this long personal nightmare will end within 18 months after figuratively having one foot out the door for five years.I have experienced the long lines and cranky older employees that other reviewers have mentioned. On top of that, the store seems to be EXCLUSIVELY run for the convenience of the employees. Examples of the accommodations include leaving the store grossly understaffed around 9:30 every morning so that employees can take their breaks together and no one stocking the dairy case until the dairy manager comes in at 9:30.One of the more memorable past incidents was my noticing on checking out that a package of chicken was especially sticky. I got as far as politely stating "this chicken is sticky" when this old dear who constantly is as nasty as she wants to be yelled "what do you expect me to do about it?" This was in the days of plastic bags, and I did not get a chance to add a second sentence asking her to put it in a separate bag. This is one of many examples of me standing by with a dumb smile on my face while being yelled at. My repeated complaints and perhaps my professional background are behind what I generally believe to be personal discrimination against me. Especially during Covid, I do not regularly shop there. Virtually every that I have for years, the bagger has walked away as my order has started to be rung up and/or they have opened another register just after I have emptied my cart after waiting behind a few people.I was in this week and patiently waited behind two people at the one open register. The old dear was operating the register, and there was a bagger. I had roughly 20-to-25 items. The trouble began when the bagger waited until I emptied my cart behind the woman ahead of me was having her order rung up to tell the woman behind me, who had gotten in line within a few seconds of me, that he would check her out at another register.I did not make a big deal of that but did tell the old dear that I wanted a bagger. Rather than even call over to the customer service rep. doing nothing behind the customer service desk, the woman snapped at me that they were lucky to have baggers at all and that I needed to bring it up to the manager. The customer ahead of me laughed. This bothered me because I am sick of what seems to be the unique trend of this area of other customers (often aggressively) butting in when I have a problem with a store. I repeatedly have stood still with a dumb smile while tough-looking characters that often are much bigger than me have cursed at me or threatened me, Thus is why I cannot shop at the Cottage Street location that another reviewer described as "ghetto." I am middle aged, 5'8 150 and always neatly dressed and shaved. I also do not have any piercings or "ink." In other words, I hardly look threatening.I calmly told the aunt of Karen that it was none of her business, she replied that she had not said anything. I responded that she had laughed. She then went into histrionics about feeling threatened despite my staying far from her personal space and not saying anything. Among other things, she made a big deal that she was too scared to properly zip up her purse. The aunt of Karen asked the old dear for an escort to her car because she was afraid that I would follow her. I still had not said a word or taken a single step toward her. I did discuss this with the general manager, who acknowledged my past experience and the practice of other customers butting in. I had no sense that she would be responsive.I called the store later that day and spoke to another manager. She validated my points but was very candid in stating that the union protected the old dear to the extent that made her immune to consequences from customer complaints. When I asked about transferring the old dear to a job such as stocking shelves, the manager responded that the old dear would have to agree to such a change.I am annoyed that I frequently must go out of

Young guy with dreadlocks was very pleasant & helpful at the deli counter. Older woman with short blonde hair was very rude. Made comments about my purchases. I.e. "this stuff is so weird, I can't believe anyone eats this". I usually shop late nights. Or at smaller Mom & Pop markets such as Chartley. And I think I will continue to do so after this experience. The day shift elders and cashiers are very rude and entitled for whatever reason. If it wasn't for the positive experience at the deli I would rate this location -1 stars.

This Stop & Shop is certainly rough around the edges. It's the smallest one I've been to and is missing some key items that I like to buy every week (Atkins protein shakes for example). Checkout is also major concern here, while at the same time amusing. They employ older folks who bog things down and get easily agitated. It's OK if you're running in to grab something quick for dinner, but for a full carriage of groceries, go elsewhere.
