“I needed to do some minor paint work in our Providence condo, so I stopped at this Sherwin Williams to pick up a few things. The store has a nice section of paint swatches so it's a great place to pick some to find out what might work best in your home. I got some spray paint and some rags for my project and I found the staff very pleasant. Lots of parking in front.”

“My son turned 13 during "quarantine" so he wasn't able to have the big party with friends that he imagined would be the kick off to his teenage years. So, we decided that we would invest some time, effort, and money in updating his room to create a cool, age appropriate space for him. He picked a theme, and while we were rearranging the furniture, it was obvious that we needed to start the transformation by applying a fresh coat of paint to the walls. We visited the shop on Newport Avenue and had the whole place to ourselves. We picked out a few swatches, brought them home to see them in the everyday lighting in our house, and picked the perfect color. We returned to the shop and were still the only customers inside. We selected washable and durable interior paint that should hold up well in a teenagers room and had two cans mixed up. We also pick up spackle and a paint roller kit to make the task as easy and foolproof as possible. The young man who assisted us was helpful and friendly and took excellent care of us.”

“The sales associate was helpful and patient. My daughter was trying to decide between 30 different shades of white "who knew." I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have (didn't in Fact) have his patience. Kudos to him. He was professional and polite and could take a joke. If you're looking for designer paint colors, this is your shop.”

“I'm a professional painter and I rely on my paint supplier to know their product lines and at Hannah's it's never been a Miss yet. 40 years and this is still my paint store.”

“We stopped at this store to get some information on wood stains for our beach cottage. The customer service is top notch. Lisa, spent a good deal of time with us answering questions and providing recommendations to our project. She gave us lots of information to digest and she was great letting us know about a sale that would start the next day and would last over the weekend. At almost $70/gallon of stain, any sale would be welcome! The Sherwin-Williams company dates from 1866, when Cleveland bookkeeper Henry Sherwin invested in Truman Dunham & Co., a paint distributorship. After the partnership dissolved in 1870, he formed Sherwin, Williams, & Co. with Edward Williams and A.T. Osborn. For its first factory, in 1873 the company acquired a cooperage in Cleveland from Standard Oil. Sherwin-Williams was incorporated in Ohio on July 16, 1884, two years after Osborn sold his interest in the company while retaining the retail operations. The company grew through acquisitions and expansions in the late 19th and early 20th century. In the early 1920s, the company became the largest coatings manufacturer in the U.S. Sherwin-Williams experienced a downturn in the 1970s, and Gulf and Western Industries unsuccessfully attempted to take over in that time. The company recovered by fending off the raid and undergoing a series of acquisitions in the 1980s and 1990s, as well as divesting its non-coatings businesses. The company operates more than 2,500 stores worldwide.”
