It was horrible, just avoid Massage Envy Shrewsbury to save your money because they can charge you thousands dollar without even mentioning about the fees ...

My experience at Massage Envy in Shrewsbury, MA was nothing short of infuriating, all thanks to the owner, Tia. Not only was her rudeness palpable from the moment I walked in, but she also had the audacity to push their membership on me persistently, despite my clear and repeated objections. It felt like dealing with a used car salesperson rather than someone running a business focused on relaxation. Tia’s tactics of talking people into signing up for memberships against their will is not only unprofessional but also downright disrespectful. It’s a shame that the supposed haven for relaxation is tainted by an owner who seems more interested in meeting membership quotas than providing a pleasant experience for customers. Save yourself the aggravation and look for a spa where the owners respect your choices and don’t force unwanted commitments on you.

I had a good massage with my therapist. But immediately after, while I'm all sleepy and relaxed, I'm basically railroaded into scheduling another appointment, and then I'm forced to give a gratuity, of which the lowest option is 20%. The franchise clearly does not pay their therapists a living wage and expect the customer to do it for them. I also had membership pitched to me rather aggressively. I know the staff are forced to do this but it just ruins the experience. I will be cancelling my appointment tomorrow and not going back. I hate being pushed around. And I hate companies not compensating their staff fairly even more.

Brian (massage therapist) was very knowledgeable and helped relieve a ton of tension in my shoulders. Would highly recommend booking with Brian if you’re looking for specific areas to release tension.

I go to the Massage Envy in Shrewsbury at least once a month. I try to see Christine whenever possible but all the therapists I have had there have been great.

Not a big fan of massages but having been in a lot of pain recently I was finally convinced to go. Now I go monthly and feel better than I've felt in years. I go for deep tissue and if you request one of the people who specialize in that, it makes a world of difference

The Message Envy franchise in Shrewsbury MA does not send any reminders ahead of the appointment (the appointments could have been made a month to two ahead of time and you most probably have forgotten) and when you forget they take away the credit ( 1hour) for the missed appointment. What is disappointing is that, they say they have sent a Text message as a reminder but I have never received any reminder Text message from them. When I asked them to either call me or send me an email the day before they say they don't do emails or phone calls, only automated text messages. I have lost three appointments this way and very disappointed with this approach. They say that the therapist does not get paid if a client misses their appointment and so it is necessary to deduct the hour/credit to pay to the therapist, but when you avail the service and don't pay appropriate gratuity that time also they say that the therapist's salary/wages comes from the gratuity thus making you feel guilty of not leaving a set gratuity.

I have been a Massage Envy member since 2016. The location I mostly frequent is the one in Shrewsbury. I was there for two back to back sessions recently. I finished my 90 minute massage which wasn’t that great and was waiting in the lobby to go in for a facial. I kept waiting for a while. It was past 10 minutes from the appointment time so I went to the reception to inquire if the therapist was running late. That’s when I was told that the therapist had called in sick so my appointment was canceled. The person at the reception told that I wouldn’t be charged anything for the appointment. I thought that was so funny, they canceled the appointment at the last minute and they act as if they were doing me a favor. If I had made a no show for my appointment I am sure I would have been charged my credits for the no show. This was very unprofessional on their part and I was utterly disappointed with the unprofessionalism.

I called the morning of a storm asking if I will get charged if I canceled due to the storm. Lady said yes. I live an hour away and was taking my grandmother for our spa day we planned a month ago. I arrive at my grandmothers house who lives near the massage envy. (15 mins before the appointment) I get a call that our appointment is now canceled. Lady didn’t understand why I was so upset that I just had to drive in a dangerous storm, mind you schools and other businesses were already closed. She wasn’t mindful at all. Waste of my time. Not professional whatsoever.

Bought a massage for my wife for $113 on her birthday, next thing I know I’m charged $226. Don’t fall for their fake marketing. The 90 minutes I paid for was cut short because the man doing it felt it was enough and it was essentially them rubbing oil all over her, no pressure or muscle relief. Plenty of other top spas in the area for this to even be considered again.

All I wanted to do after my massage was pay and get out. The front desk associate was trying to sell me a membership for ten minutes even though I told her multiple times that I wasn't interested and just wanted to pay and leave. It's quite obvious that management is forcing them to do this. While I was being sold to against my will, another associate was asking me questions for a survey. Again, all I wanted to do was pay and leave. When I was slow to respond to a question (because i was being sold to and surveyed at the same time by two different people) the survey lady made a comment that "I must do manual labor" which wasn't offensive but definitely annoying. Why they do this to people after getting a massage when they are relaxed and happy is a great mystery. I left there pretty annoyed. There are too many great massage places in the area to deal with that. The massage itself was decent and the lady that did my massage was a pleasure to talk to, but I'm never coming back.

Worst facial I think I’ve ever had after continuously getting facials for 5+ years. I’ve had facials at other massage envy locations and maybe it was just who I had but I have never had a facial where I did not walk out feeling clean. I walked out here not feeling clean. I have an upcoming vacation and was hoping my face would be okay, no here I am an hour after my facial popping my own pimples and giving myself a better facial. I get acne, maskne etc. why would you let someone leave your location with several whiteheads ready to pop I have no idea. I will not be returning…
