We’ve been going to Porter Square Vet for nearly 15 years. Dr. Parker is the best, most caring vet I have ever dealt with. All our animals have gotten incredible care here.

Really kind + compassionate vet staff. I have several times been offered same-day appointments when available for urgent issues. Me and my dogs love porter square vet,!

I got my first puppy this fall, so I was very new to everything. One morning I woke up to him having a bad eye infection. Panicking, I called the vet and they got me in within the hour!! They are so kind, so tentative and a truly helpful group of people. They even text you! Making appointments and health questions (even sending pictures) so easy. I highly recommend them!

*Warning Graphic Image*Been going here for a few years. Vet care is good but will stop doing ear cleanings/claw trims here.6 months ago I heard the loudest scream from my cat while waiting in the lobby for his ear cleaning. Afterwards realized he became deaf. There's no conclusive evidence of this, so I thought I shouldn't blame them. But during the latest visit something happened again. My cat was returned to me with one claw bloody and mangled looking after a claw trim. But the vet tech didn't say anything about it, just gave me my cat. I had to explicitly point out the bloody paw for them to say something - but they just told me it's normal.I trim his claws every 2 weeks and this has never happened. I've never drawn blood but I've seen a relative accidentally draw blood during a trim. A tiny bit of blood came out, definitely not like this.So yeah, after the ear cleaning incident AND the claw incident I think it's best to not come here or just stick to veterinary stuff and not claw/ear stuff.Attached are before and after pictures of his paw

I have been coming here for 30 years, and all that time Dr. Parker has been our vet for both dogs and cats. We’ve gotten nothing but excellent care, respect and consideration from all of us that I’ve seen as well as the front desk. There was a period during Covid, when it was a little chaotic and stressful in there, but that was true everywhere. Currently, I have gotten wonderful advice when I call in and my puppy has diarrhea or I need some other advice. The women at the front desk are really helpful. They also accept donations for the charity, Every Pet Counts. Dr. Parker is part of that effort to bring care food and medicines to people who can’t afford it otherwise. I have brought in food medicines and a dog bed from a dog I had who died recently. I think they’re terrific!

I had an appointment for 1:30pm yesterday 11/4/23. I was running late so I called and notified the receptionist that I would be late and that the GPS said 1:44/1:45 arrival time. I was told that although generally they do not accept appointments after 15 mins that it was okay. I responded with "okay, I will try my best to hurry, maybe speed a little". The lady responded with "Dont worry about it, you will be fine, I will notify the vet". I got there after parking and paying for parking at 1:46. That is the time I saw on my phone when I was told I was "too late". I was in complete disbelief as I was led to believe over the phone that it would all be fine, and then told otherwise once I got there. If they had a hard 15 mins rule then they should have told me to reschedule and not try and make it in. It was a COMPLETE AND UTTER DISREGARD AND DISRESPECT FOR MY TIME. I understand I was running late, I called to notify them, I wished they would have let me know that I would be wasting my time by even trying. I would have turned around. I notified them of the GPS arrival time, maybe if I had run a red light or two, it would not have been a problem. Needless to say, my Samoyed and I will no longer be going there.

Failed us at a time of need. While being a customer there for my dog he had woken up one morning being extremely sick. I explained everything going in to them in the phone and they said they could get him in, in two days. I tried to emphasize the severity of what had been going on, did not matter.I immediately called a different veterinarian in Lynnfield and they said to come in right away. He passed away the next day sadly.

I just had my first visit with my adopted cat. Dr. Johnson so amazing, despite my cat being a bit of a sassy patient. She was very knowledgeable and honest and you could tell she cares about her patient. Thank you!

Absolutely fabulous vet! I took my cat in for his annual and they were great about listening to my concerns. The least stressful vet visit I’ve had in awhile! Dr. Precopio has a great manner, is transparent with care, and great with cats! My cat was seen in a timely manner and they let us check out in the room so he wasn’t as stressed. The price is actually quite reasonable for the area.

The vet was incredibly kind to my very shy baby ( a cat). He’s on the chunky side so I braced myself for some fat shaming but was pleasantly surprised when the vet told me that a lil chunk isn’t a bad thing. The vet also showered my cat in endless compliments. I left feeling even more assured that I have the best cat in the world as all of us pet parents already feel about our babies. I’m excited to continue bringing my dude to this vet. Highly recommend!

DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT THEMLack of concern toward dogs with cancer previously is scary. Porter Square Vet was our dog’s chosen vet office for multiple years. The last month of our dog's life we reached out on multiple occasions for guidance as well as an appointment, and they told me they were unable to help us. Mind you, our dog has had cancer and has been treated for that in the past at this facility – there is no follow up process. If you want peace of mind, find it elsewhere.Unfortunately, this is not a place that truly cares about your pet(s). The bare minimum will be met, with zero concern or follow up- your beloved pets are just a number ($) to them. As a family that lost our favorite furry companion, please do your research and find a Vet that actually cares for the well being of your pet.

This vet is the BEST. Special shout-out to Annabelle at the front—whatever you are paying her is not enough! I have had many dogs in my life and spent time at many vet offices. Porter square vet genuinely cares about their clients, is empathetic, not too expensive (especially for being in a city), and just a really high quality clinic. They helped us through our late dog’s cancer battle and end of life transition (which ended up being natural and in our home). They also helped with cremation services. Through the whole, terrible (because of the cancer/death/grief) process, they were so kind and empathetic. They gave us respect when they called to say his body was failing from the blood work results, they gave us space when we dropped off his body the day he died, and they offered us empathy and tissues. They even sent a condolences card sign by the doctor and staff. Really above and beyond. They also are good and getting in last minute appointments if you call early in the morning and it is urgent (such as a dog with cancer). Six months later, a new dog has rather unexpectedly (and yet joyfully) found his way into our lives, and it wasn’t even a question who the vet would be!When I called to make our new dog’s initial visit, Annabelle even remembered our late dog, Jasper, and celebrated our new life step with us. It was so truly kind—I am even crying writing this! The vet care is also great from a purely medical perspective, and they are good with vaccinations, physicals, and exams. I really cannot recommend Porter Square Veterinarian enough.
