I worked here previously and left because the store manager Deanna St. Croix is very unkind and unsupportive of her associates. She talks about associates behind their backs constantly. If she does not like you there is a target on your back. Everything is her way or the highway. If you don't kiss ass she will fire you. She would send me to go get her lunch on the clock with her card when I needed to be helping my department. I had to step down from a supervisor position to overnight freight to save my job. She does not care about anyone but herself. She will call the cops to have you trespassed because she doesn't like you. I only go in to shop or say hi very rarely. I really hope she loses her job so the associates can get a manager that cares about them. Home Depot prides itself on taking care of their associates but she would rather fire them and move on to the next.

I have experienced a circus of negative experiences with Somerville MA Home Depot. There are problems with their check out hardware, sometimes their machine that processes checks does not work. There are only a few good people who work here. Delivery is the worst. I had a cabinet delivered and they sent one delivery person. He said I didn't sign up to have it brought into my house. (Not true). I sent it back as I'm in my 60's and could not bring it by myself up my stairs. I called the delivery service and he told me he assumed I would not need help bringing it in, as my husband could help. I don't have a husband and told the delivery guy that. He never even asked me! I had them deliver on another day with 2 people to bring the cabinet in. Terribly sexist. Now I shop at Lowes.

John at the Sommerville, MA location is great - I had to help my sick college-aged daughter with a project. She is the maker, not me. John was thoughtful, and professional, and helped me with a solution that worked well for my family. He is a trained electrician so he was able to give great advice. Another customer (sorry guys - a male) got irritated that he was helping me solve a problem. John was calm, prioritized my support, and tried to guide the customer to service. All to say, we people of a certain age are normally ignored. John understood what needed to get done and took the time to help direct me to the right products at HomeDepot for the job. Thank you!

I think that the rating for this Home Depot is accurate. The wood we purchased wasn't even stored inside of the store. They actually stored the wood outside in the rain.

Wish I could leave 0 stars. The absolute worst customer service. Called prior to ordering an appliance to find out if installation was included or if I needed a plumber involved they told me it was included and didn't need a plumber. Upon attempted delivery was told by driver there needed to be a plumber. Customer service was very unhelpful manager said there didn't need to be a plumber and wasted two hours of my time on the phone contacting the delivery service. Came back from hold to tell me there does need to be a plumber. Overall wasted 4 plus hours of my day with awful communication being transferred back and forth and no resolution. Ended up canceling my order as they weren't willing to help me figure out a more specific time to deliver to not take another day off for this or discount which another representative said they were able to do. So many miscommunications on their end multiple times that wasted hours of time and am very disappointed and still applianceless.

Ordered a Traeger smoker that was a great deal. The wrong smoker was delivered. It's already assembled and won't fit in a standard vehicle, so I can't return it myself. No one on the phone was helpful, so had to deal with 50 minutes of Boston traffic to go to the store to schedule them to pick it up. They have no more of the model I actually ordered in the store (and the reason the wrong order was delivered was because it was mistagged.... Good thing I know my traegers, or I might have thought the much smaller one they sent me was right... seems suspicious). In order to get the smoker I want, I have to order it from another Home Depot store; they won't do that for me. Why? Is this not the same company? But it doesn't seem worth the hassle, so I order from another home depot to get the Traeger I want. So now I have the cost of 2 smokers on my credit card. The other store won't send me an assembled smoker, even though I paid for assembly, so now I'll have to put it together myself. The Somerville Home Depot gives me a pickup day when they will come get the smoker that was wrong, but no time window for that day other than between 6am and 8pm. Sure, everyone is free to be at home for 14 straight hours, right? And now it's 8pm on the day they're supposed to pick it up, and sure enough- no pickup. No email, no text, no phone call. No communication about when they will come get the smoker that they delivered or when I will be refunded my money. I have spent about $20,000 at Home Depot over the last year or so as I've done remodeling on my house, and this is definitely not the only time they have totally sucked in their customer service, delivery, and competence. I wish there was another home improvement store closer, because I would never set foot in a Home Depot again based on my experiences with their laziness and incompetence over the last year. At this point I'd probably rather drive an hour to another option rather than keep on dealing with this kind of crap. Do better.Edit: 3 days later. Home Depot has still not picked up the item. I've called the store 4 times. I've been on hold for over 30 minutes. I've been transferred from this store to another area store, claiming they are the ones who should schedule the pickup, even though I didn't order it from them. I've been hung up on. This is ridiculous.

Downloaded yelp just to write how unhelpful the guy in the tools section was. I wanted to buy a new Milwaukee set for around the house, but he refused to unlock the gate for me. He just moped around and mumbled random words. Guess I'll go to ace down the road and spend the 400 bucks.

Purchased Xmas tree - was dried out and dead in a day - not drinking any water - $73.00 - took pics and called to see if we could get new one and was told we had to bring back the one we got - we don’t have netting or ropes. Very poor way to manage this kind of situation.

Nobody was available to help us in the power tools aisle. We asked multiple staffs that told us a hardware associate will come help but we waited 45 minutes and no one came, so we decided to leave. Nobody actually cared enough to make sure the right person came.

Most chauvinistic place I have ever shopped at and will gladly spend my money instead at a smaller local ACE Hardware store.

Dishwasher arrived with a large gouge in the door like a forklift was driven into it. Home Depot refused to replace the dishwasher or do anything to remedy the situation. After a few days of me calling they said I should call Samsung to try and get the thing repaired under it's warranty. So I did. They sent a guy to my house who basically told me that damages by the retailer aren't covered under warranty. No kidding. So that wasted another week. After many more hours on the phone they finally said that if I paid to have Samsung replace the door, they would reimburse me. I asked multiple times to receive confirmation of this in writing, but no one was willing to do that. A week later Samsung arrives, dismantles the door, realizes they didn't give him the right part, and leaves with dishwasher parts laying all over the kitchen, and no working dishwasher. It was also revealed that the cost to replace the door was more than the cost of the dishwasher. Had Home Depot provided any type of customer service and contacted Samsung on their customers behalf they would have known that. Finally after 2 weeks and many hours on the phone they agreed to refund me for this thing...now I just need to wait 2 weeks for them to pick it up. The best part is that this is my house I'm selling that goes on the market this week. Top notch guys! Great work! Do yourself a favor...don't shop here. Go to Lowes

Two hours ago, I saw way too many people not wearing masks inside this store. Some associates also had uncovered faces and masks under their chin. Sign on door clearly asked patrons to wear masks. I did not feel comfortable here. Tried calling to complain and phone went unanswered.

If I could give negative stars I would - this is by far the worst store I have ever been too Unhelpful staff with zero job know how Shitty inventory Still trying to get money back that I am owed - the morons at the store won't work a phone Hey manager or supervisor. - if you read this message know that I will hound you until you give my money back and bring you down if I can't
