I had a u box and thought it was n one location, but was then told Somerville and went to the other uhaul. It ended up being at this one and I didn't know you had to call ahead to empty it out.Fortunately it was on the earlier side of a sat and they were not busy, so they pulled my box out so I could empty it.They seriously did me a solid and the right thing as it would probably be easy to just say you need to make a reservation. The guy who pulled the box was spot on... a couple of times I needed to talk to someone in the office, they were more interested in the pats game than helping me, but I only mention that as you'll probably not want to go during that time (or maybe it's a good time as it was slow?!?)

DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION. Rented a self-storage unit in advanced. When I arrived at the location, the worker (who seemed drunk) confirmed that our reservation existed for today but that there were no storage units available. Apperently reserving a unit doesn't actually reserve the unit (according to the worker), which doesn't follow their online policies on reservations for self storage. I am a college student who is leave in a day. I do not have the time or money to find a new place to store my items. The unprofessional, disorganized, and unhelpful behavior of this Uhaul center is unacceptable, especially after they made a mistake that they wouldn't even own up to. Very disappointing.

I've come here twice to fill up a propane tank. Both times had an awful experience. This time I show up on a Sunday, wait in line for five minutes. I ask an employee " do I wait in line to get the propane tank filled?" Very gruff response - 'ask the manager'. I then asked the manager - the response "no we're not doing that today." I think he would have been less rude if he simply told me to go F- myself. I would never ever ever in 1 million years what is this place again.

Rented a u-haul truck and storage room. An employee named Juan, was incredibly kind, helpful and professional. He took his time to help come up with a solution for my move that would perfectly provide what I needed for the best price. All the employees I encountered at this location where egar to assist with excellent customer service.

Severely understaffed for their "busiest time of the year" (aug 30th). Counted 5 employees total, 2 of which were on their phone hiding in the garage, they only helped me after searching for them for 10 minutes. This location also charged me for damages that I didn't cause, not to mention I purchased Insurance (up to 5k). Note that the trailer I rented probably cost no more then 3k total. I frequent lots of uhauls around the country and I am very disappointed in this locations performance.

We recently moved cross-country to Boston and left some of our stuff in storage with UHaul at this location. These guys have been slammed every time we have gone in. Without fail, the workers--and especially the manager, Manny--have been patient and gracious with the clientele. I know they must be under a ton stress and it's really impressive how they handle themselves.

These guys were so helpful. We were moving our daughter to Baltimore and picked up the truck. Turns out it wasn't big enough so I had to bring it back and get the a bigger one. I thought "here comes a hassle". Well, the guys couldn't have been nicer. I was in and out in 15 minutes, no extra charges, no attitude. Just "how can we help??". We would definitely go back to Manuel and his crew again.

Terrible customer service. I stood in line for over an hour and a half with just five people ahead of me. When my turn came, the agent asked me for all the details I had already entered online and manually entered it all over again. Terribly inefficient business. The only reason they can behave this way is that U-Haul is practically a monopoly. I hope it is seriously challenged and either improves or goes out of business.

I Do not often rent trucks and I feel like I was taken advantage of by u haul... the adds and the prices at the store say $19.95 for a day! Sounds fair to me!! So I needed a truck to pick up a couch off craigslist and I rented the 10' box truck. It was advertised for 19.95 a day. So I called and wanted to reserve it and the woman on the phone said "so you have the truck for 4 hours". I said isn't it the same price for the entire day? She said yes and I asked to change it to the all day rental just to be safe. She said ok! So I rented the truck for 19.95 for the whole day. I drove the truck 10 miles round trip. I returned it Undamaged 3 hours later. The total was $63.75... so they threw on another $43.75 of hidden fees on top of the $19.95. The people at the store were not helpful or professional. And the truck ended up costing me more than the couch itself... I can't believe they're legally allowed to advertise that price. There is no situation where the truck ends up being only 20 bucks. Even if you rent it leave it on the lot and return the keys without moving it. Now I know better and I can actually compare prices in the future.

DO NOT USE UBOX SERVICES!! My moving experience with Uhaul was absolutely terrible. I was moving from Boston to LA and thought ubox was the cheapest and easiest way. The entire experience was terrible and ended up costing more money than a more expensive mover. My Uboxes were not ready on the day they were supposed to be ready and my mover waited hours at the Uhaul. I wasn't able to get an actual answer on when my boxes would be ready until I had to drive down to the store myself. Then, as I am driving across the country, I happened to check online and saw that my boxes would not be arriving by my "guaranteed" arrival date. I was already traveling to LA and could not turn back at that point. I was NEVER alerted by anyone at Uhaul that my boxes would be delayed and was told it was company policy to not email until the day before it doesn't arrive (an email that I also did not get). I was told my boxes were delayed because they were not picked up at the scheduled date, so someone at Uhaul knew they would be delayed for at least week at this point but I was not contacted. Instead, I had to make last minute arrangements because I was showing up in a new city with none of my belongings. Hotels and flight changes cost an additional $1,000 that I am not reimbursed for. To top it all off, I was then not notified when my boxes did actually arrive in LA, and only found out they were there after sitting on hold (once again) for at least an hour.I understand delays happen. However, I have never used a service with such disregard for customer service. The employees are just going through the motions and if there is an issue, it is up to you to find it on your own. Definitely worth the money to use a better moving service that is actually able to answer your questions and treat your stuff with care.

If you need a U-Haul, do yourself a favor and go to the (much more competently run) Brighton location. I dropped off a truck here after driving it from Florida and the guy at the counter told me "just leave it with the keys in it." Really, I said? No paperwork? Nothing I need to do or sign? He assured me this was the case. I went home only to see a missed call on my phone and a voicemail telling me they don't know the lock combination on the truck, and that I should call and tell it to them or pay a lock-cutting fee. Easy enough in theory, except *nobody at this location answers the phone.* (When I was at the store I even overheard someone talking about the ringing phones, saying, "We don't answer the phones here lol we're too busy.") I'm not sure how wise of a business model it is to not answer your customers' phone calls, especially during a global pandemic when responsible businesses are attempting to minimize contact between customers and staff. So anyway, I ended up driving 25 minutes to the store just to tell an employee the 4-digit lock code. If the lock situation was the only inconvenience I suffered from this U-Haul store, it would be irritating enough, but I'd also like to mention that the "storage unit" they rented me was neither large enough nor conveniently located enough to be of any use. It was the size of a large closet and located several hallways down, in the dingy back corner of the storage facility (I'm saying, like, Kubrickian, The Shining, Overlook-Hotel sized hallways.) I have no idea what kinds of people are trucking their belongings 200 meters and up a flight of stairs to store their items in such a unit. And the kicker is that it was 5 feet off the floor, requiring a metal stepladder to access. (The stepladder could not even easily fit down the hallway without getting caught on the overhang in the hallway.) Oh, and I had to pay for my own lock to rent this unusable storage unit. Don't walk, run away from this business.

Absolute worse u-haul ever. One person on the weekend. One person getting the trucks. A line around the corner and everyone is rude. I get they're busy but youd think they'd have more people. Nobody staff have idea what they're doing. I won't go to this location again.

I didn't think I'd be writing a review for a U-Haul but the service was so outstanding that I had to! As a student in Cambridge I usually go to the U-Haul in Central Square, but Somerville had a larger selection of trucks and allowed for 24-hour rentals which my boyfriend and I needed due to our move-out and move-in times being 12 hours apart. It turns out Somerville also has superior service compared to Cambridge! We were helped by Manny the manager. He was extremely helpful and accomodating despite being under incredible stress due to Boston's famous "9/1" where all college students start moving in and any U-Haul within a 10 mile radius of the city are all out of trucks. The fact that Manny can keep his composure during such chaotic times and offer excellent service is a testament to his ability as a manager and he represents U-Haul extremely well. Manny asked us if we wanted insurance just to double check that we really wanted it (I guess previously some people said they wanted insurance when ordering online but actually didn't want to pay for insurance in the end). We were able to get our UHaul return extended by a day for an additional $20 which was a blessing since we couldn't move in until 12pm and our original return time was 2pm. When we asked about renting utility dollies, Manny offered them to us free of charge. Would 100% recommend coming here for UHaul rentals!
