Was in a rush, stopped here, first mistake. I went in to get a cash advance on my card because I needed a money order to pay rent. They looked completely baffled as if they had never heard of such a thing. The lady told me “ why don’t you just use an atm?” Lol when I had to explain to a bank teller that atms had low limits and I needed more than that she said, “ we are a small bank, we don’t do that.”Lived in Somerville my whole life and always thought of banking there, but the complete incompetence of staff and condescending attitudes make me aware of the reason most locals despise them. I will give them credit for one thing, they make a memorable first impression. Winter Hill bank made my first and only experience negative enough to never go back and use a real bank for any transactions. They are a joke who seem confused at simple banking procedures.Use a real bank or a credit Union, do some research before you do any sort of transaction with them. It’s like talking to a group of kindergarteners dressed up as tellers. The next morning I stopped at a real bank and executed the same very simple transaction within 2 minutes. 350 food mart could most likely do banking better than them. Lesson learned.

I tried to make a quick mortgage payment with my twins in a stroller and it took me about five minutes just to open the door and enter. Once I got inside I noticed many employees standing around and not one person had the common decency to help me open the door. This bank is lacking customer service and is not adequately equipped to service families let alone someone in a wheelchair. Do not go here.

Do you enjoy paying exorbitant monthly fees? Do computers intimidate you? Do you enjoy inconsistently applied policies by misinformed managers? If so, then rejoice, this is the bank for you! We had our condominium checking account here for 16 years. Everything was fine for years (although they charged a $2.50 "convenience fee" for the account). When new trustees were appointed, it was notarized, recorded with the Middlesex Registry of Deeds, and then the bank would update the account information. Suddenly, that's no longer true, and the bank said they needed approval from the previous trustees to remove their names. This is not true at all according to our real estate attorney, and in fact the previous trustees have no legal authority to sign anything after new trustees have been appointed. When I pointed this out, the branch manager said, "That's for the state, it has nothing to do with us". (Apparently banks are not subject to state law?) Ostensibly this requirement "had always been in place", but that's also not true (or the previous branch managers had dutifully ignored it for 16 years -- either way, it's not a desirable situation). If you read the previous reviews, you'll see this type of inconsistent policy and suspicion of documents is a clear policy at this bank. Even if you don't find yourself at the mercy of their constantly-changing requirements, they also delete online banking accounts after a few months of not logging in, which needless to say is not suitable for infrequently used accounts. However, when you call to get it reactivated, they'll happily email you a temporary username and password, in plain text, which is completely insecure. The whole thing gave the impression of a very technologically unfriendly bank that was dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century.
