A peaceful place to explore! Great stop with the little ones. Many butterflies and we watched a few chyralyses open. They have tropical plants, too.

Easily one of the best museums to take your partner or family! Small facility but value packed for the size and price. Educational, beautiful, relaxing. A good day trip. Small food court, restrooms, and largely handicap accessible! You can buy baby quail here, adopt butterflies to hatch, and praying mantis for your garden!!

Things for parents to keep in mind:Strollers are not allowed inside the conservatory. There is a coat closet where you can the stroller, but it’s better to just leave them in the car. Also leave the jackets and hats in the car as well, as it’s really warm in the conservatory.Bonus tip: have your kids wear bright colors or flower print shirts to attract the butterflies to sit on them!

This place is a treasure. I have visited atleast 10x's in the past couple of years. It is a place I enjoy bringing friends to to experience the magic. Why 4 stars? My complaint: I was there today with my 3 year old grandson. After paying $80 on entry fees and gifts at the gift shop we visited the butterflies. After our visit we went to sit down at the cafeteria like seating area surrounded by plants at the buildings entrance. There are several round tables with chairs. I had a packed lunch for my 3 year old grandson and began to allow him to eat his sandwich before is low blood sugar mood escalated. I was admonished by staff noting that there was no outside food allowed! I find this rule to be totally Family Unfriendly. People who visit this place are not randomly coming off the street to take up tables in there cafeteria! They are patrons who have just spent money to visit their conservatory. I imagine they want to discourage outside food to encourage sales at their food kiosk which sells a small selection of food and drinks, however in the 10x's I have visited , it was only open once. It was not open today while I was trying to allow my 3 year old to eat. It was also 19 degrees outside and the idea that this place would prefer their customers to eat outside in the cold rather than use their cafeteria is a terrible unwelcoming business move and highly disappointing.

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but I just can't. My son went on a field trip here and went into the gift shop before leaving. He brought home a little Ty beanie baby, and I discovered it's literally a McDonald's happy meal toy. I understand trying to make money for your business, but charging kids $4.95 for a happy meal toy is just ridiculous. It wasn't even butterfly themed either, it's got a Canada sticker on it! When you are a business that alot of schools use for field trips, you know that parents aren't going to be there to inspect what their kids are buying, and selling a happy meal toy is just unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend sending your kids with gift shop money if they are on a school field trip!
