Went in for my first time today. The woman there asked what I was looking for. I stated that I was dairy free and am lactose intolerant. He budded in and had the audacity to ask if I was self diagnosing myself or was actually lactose intolerant. He continued on to say that If I was lactose intolerant I’d need a doctor. I said “I do have a doctor and she said I am lacto-“ he cut me off and said “let me finish” and continued on about goat milk. I found it extremely rude that he
1. Cut me off- horrible customer service (I work in customer service and found this absolutely disgusting)
2. Has the audacity to ask me if I actually am dairy free and/ or have a DOCTOR
Even if I wasn’t dairy free, am I not allowed to buy dairy free products if I’m not vegan or dairy free? I just simply like the taste? If I like it, I AM BUYING IT. I should be able to go to a store and get what I want without being asked if I have these issues or without being asked anything. The woman gets 5 stars for me. She helped me find what I was looking for and more!

I go once every month and get vitamins that take all of my pains away. I thank God for this store. I am on morphine for pain and I get more relief with the pills that I get from this place ok. I have a lot of pain problems and the man took me right to the stuff I am on now and they work. Trust me they work. All you got to do is tell them your problem. Give them a try

Better Life used to be a go-to destination for holistic and healthy products. However, the customer service has drastically declined since the new owner took charge in 2022. Sadly, African Americans and Latinos no longer receive the warm welcome they deserve upon entering the store, and instead, they are watched as if they were pre-perceived thieves. To make matters worse, Miklos, the new owner, has shown immense arrogance and has dismantled the very essence of this once exceptional health food store, which had been serving the community for over 30 years.

I have been a customer at Better Life for more than 8 years and have had nothing short of great service from everyone. However, the new guy (owner/manager Miklos) clearly doesn't exemplify the meaning of having a \\\"Better Life\\\". While in the store, I heard him yelling at a customer a couple of aisles over. When I got to the register to check out, I too ended up in a shouting match with him. He was RUDE and ineffective in handling customer complaints which include: 1-Listen attentively 2-Empathize and APOLOGIZE 3-Offer and execute a solution In speaking with a few others, this not the first time for this behavior from him. The staff and employees there still get 5 STARS from me!!!! ****In response to owner’s response below***** Clearly, you did not strive to provide exceptional customer service on that day. You ABSOLUTELY DID NOT apologize- if you had and were sincere, it would not have resulted in the back and forth exchange. There are witnesses remember? Your response below is your only attempt to make yourself look somewhat in control of your outlandish behavior!!!

The staff and new owner are so welcoming and knowledgeable. I absolutely love coming here for all my supplements and gf foods. I always am laughing with the staff and leave with a smile.

I am very grateful for all the help I have received from the time I been going to this little wholefoods store . They always offer great help and information how to better your health. Of course I am a woman of faith and believe in prayer but also believe in eating healthy and natural medicine . I want to thank the ladies there that have been very helpful . I have to say during COVID we almost lost my husband father due to lung failure . He was given three days to live . But I thank God for all the prayers from the church and also the ladies that were helpful when I went there to buy him some natural medicine /vitamins \u0026 teas. My father in law today is alive and no longer on a machine . And doctors cannot explained it because his lungs were not functioning . Faith moves mountains and also eating healthy . I also want to share I had an ulcer in my stomach and gastritis which is very painful. Of course i prayed and also had the ladies at the church pray for me , but I also went to this little store and was advised of what to take in which I did . I had to return within 4 months back to the hospital in Westfield for more test. I have to say when I return the doctor told me , everything had come back negative . He said keep up the good work whatever you doing is working . Thank you for your help and great advise .. truly means a lot .. God bless you ?

Visited the store today for the second time ever. I cut my visit short when I noticed the employees walking around with their masks either only covering their mouth or down around their chin and not covering mouth or nose. Shame on you people! You should be concerned about protecting your customers. I won't be back.
