I’ve never left a review for anything in my life so please bear with me. My brother and I used Byron Keenan Funeral Home after our mother, Manuela, passed away at 53 years old. Sue Keenan was so incredibly kind and helpful. Between adjusting prices for us, editing my mom’s obituary after it had been finalized, making memorial cards for us, etc. They even had the most well behaved and adorable doodle puppy that we asked to hang out with while we went over paperwork. I called every funeral home / crematory in the area, we decided to go with Sue, and would again.

My family has been using Byron Keenan for many years. Unfortunately we are in need of their services again . My mom recently passed away and I called them immediately. They have always taken such good care of us. I feel like they are my extended family. If I need anything they take care of it. Always go above and beyond. Just want to thank Sue and her staff for the love and support they give us

Sue and her staff treated us like family. They helped us and thought of the things we didn't. While reviewing and going over funeral arrangements Sue's puppy came walking in giving me all the loving I needed more than ever at that time. My Mom loved dogs too. Very comforting. They have always taken care of us. Wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. Thank you from the bottom of my heat. The Krokenberger Famly.

We had a great experience with Byron Keenan. Terry was very helpful and made the process of burying my father in law easier on all of us. This was no easy task as my father in law passed in Florida but was buried in Massachusetts. Terry took care of every need we had and went above and beyond his job requirements. Everyone at Byron Keenan was caring and compassionate.

Caring, professional and compassionate are three words I would use to describe those who work at Byron Keenan. Planning services after the death of a loved one is not an easy process. We were treated as if we were family. Planning was made simple. We were given time to personalize our service, they coordinated everything with our church and the cemetery.A difficult time was made less difficult.

My dad passed away after 6 months of fighting infections. At 99 years old, he had enough of hospitals and decided on hospice. We chose a small service at Byron Keenan and the gravesite, for just the immediate family. Terry Mullins was so helpful putting it together, even researching dad's military history and arranging for TAPS and a flag folding ceremony. The posting on their website was perfect, with his photos and Frank Sinatra singing, and the notecards were beautiful. Thank you, Terry and Byron Keenan staff. Your concern during our difficult time was much appreciated.

We had both my grandparents' funeral services at Byron Keenan and were very impressed with their professionalism, compassion, and attention towards the Catholic religion. When faced with the reality that my father was about to pass and calling funeral homes, the receptionist said one thing to my mom that made our decision clear who to go with, "Go hold your husband's hand and we'll take care of everything." The care for our family in that moment is what sets Byron Keenan apart. In meeting with Terry to make arrangements, he continually put our mind at ease answering every question or concern we had with my father's wake and funeral services. Communication was frequent and ensured every step was planned with no uncertainties on the day of. We received countless comments from family and friends of how beautiful the ceremonies were and are proud to give our dad the best in a very trying time for our family.

With the passing of our Uncle we reached out to Sue and she was very sensitive to our family's needs. Sue worked with our family to ensure that all of our needs were met. Also all of the staff were kind, professional and showed so much compassion for our loss. Sue supported us in making all of the arrangements and with her help we were able to have a beautiful service for our Uncle. I would like to thank BryonKeenan for all they did for us in our time of bereavement . I would recommend them to any family that would be in need of their services.

I recently attended my brother's funeral at Byron Keenan funeral home. As I walked in the door the owner's dog came running at me. I asked the owner, Susie, to put the dog somewhere secure. Susie agreed. A short while later, this dog came running at me again, while I was standing in the reception line with friends of my brother's, trying to express to me their condolences. The funeral home was packed with mourners, yet Susie thought it was a good idea to let her dog run wild through all of those people. I asked her kindly again, to please put the dog in a room where it couldn't get out and I explained my phobia to her both times. She left the dog running around in the visitation room, regardless. I wanted to just leave, but this was my younger brother's funeral. I had to stay! This day was hard enough without having to deal with someone's dog in this situation.I will never attend another service at this funeral home. And I will tell friends and family how I was treated during my brother's funeral, by the funeral director /owner herself, if someone close to me is thinking about choosing this funeral home, because I will not attend and be subject to this disrespect again!

Terry, Shannon and everyone at Byron Keenan were personable, professional and treated us like family. They were sensitive to our grief while calmly walking us through the process during this difficult and emotional time. They went above and beyond to assist in us in making decisions and designing a tribute event for our family and friends to honor my husband's memory with celebration. Our family will forever be grateful for their tender attention to every detail.

I highly recommend Byron Keenan Funeral Home. They have provided services for my husband's family for more than 40 years. When my husband and I started thinking about the inevitable 5 years ago, after purchasing a plot in a historic cemetery where his ancestors are buried we called upon Byron Keenan for funeral pre-planning. Terry was extremely professional, guiding us through selecting everything from the services required, casket and burial. He even checked with the cemetery to be sure of any requirements they might have.We were living in Washington state when my husband died recently. Terry was the second call I made after we found he had passed during the night. Terry took control of everything immediately, despite it being Easter Saturday; he persevered in finding a local funeral home to pick up his body in short order and handle all the necessary arrangements, required paperwork and transportation back to Springfield. Once back in Springfield, Terry and his staff again handled every detail of the burial in a efficient, caring and professional manner.Byron Keenan and Terry Mullins, especially, exceeded my expectations.
