I was trying to get a pre-approval for a first time home buyers loan on the recommendation of a nurse I work with. I inquired via email and a Lisa Mish responded. She said I qualified and to go send her my w2s and paystubs. I wasn't comfortable sending that info online so had them scanned to her through the spfld office, that was on 8/4/23. After 3.5 weeks and email tag I've yet to get anywhere. Emails go completely ignored. I wouldn't recommend this bank to anyone who's serious about getting help with a home loan. Mr.Welch should really look into running this company better.

It is always nice to realize that banking locally means the bank cares about the community…. LOLOf course i figured that was the case before i brought my 4 year old in here because she learned about banks at preschool and wanted to exchange some quarters she had earned for some bills. Mind you just quarters and just a small amount, i was promptly turned away by the teller because we don't bank here. (I bank online with the same bank for years) and was just trying to dosomething fun with my kid. As I was walking out with a tearful child i figured we could try over at the Local TD Bank (where i also don't bank) they asked the same question but the senior teller immediately laughed and made an exception and they happily exchanged my 4 year olds $6 in quarters for HER.So i ask you, which bank cares more about the community?This occurred at the Ludlow Branch but cross posted here as it is the main bank.

Be careful leaving your money at this bank. Someone hacked my card and took money from my account and i reported and still no answer why i was denied when my money should have been secured in your bank. After that i closed my account for 14 years that I was banking with them just to tell me that is not their fault.Horrible customer service. Make sure you check your account daily because they are not responsible for whatever happens.

my card hasn't been lost or stolen, I attempted to pay my water bill before heading to the grocery store to buy food and the worker stated that my card had been flagged as fraud. Called the Cooley branch and got Tracy who seemed like it was an inconvenience that I call about this. she stated that all cards were shut off and the new ones were supposed to be used starting today, she then transferred me to someone else who stated that I should have received a new card and if I haven't then it would take 2 weeks to get a new one and I have to go online basically figure it out for myself (I truly hope all calls are recorded for validity purposes, bc this is crazy!). I asked how I was supposed to go buy food now and she didn't have a response other than I could still pay my bills using my routing and account, so I guess I can pay my bills but will starve for the next 2 weeks. on top of it I didn't get any notifications as she claimed I should have, no messages, no email. this is beyond ridiculous and something that I refuse to stay quiet about! I'm living in Kentucky currently, its not like I can go to a branch and withdraw cash!

Horrible bank, horrible experience starting a loan and opening a simple account, horrible website, long hold times… when I got my loan I was going to do all my banking at Freedom so I didn’t have to manage a separate account. I’m extremely glad I didn’t do that. Nasty attitude on so many people I spoke to when I explained my frustrations.

Customers of Freedom credit union..Alert Alert..I answered a email that was a scam..they took 123 out of my account charging Google games. I got a call from Freedom credit union call center asking if the charges were fraudulent I said YES!!..I called the bank the next day to file a dispute and to get my money back. Google denied the claim bc they didn't see any error they went and looked at my account but obviously they couldn't see anything ?. Well obviously you can't I didn't authorize the chargesI talked to Freedom credit union to ask for help. They gave me provisional credit but the investigation was not final yet..today they sent me a letter saying we could not find any error and we will take the money back that you were scammed from because you PARTICIPATED IN By giving them your information. Are you serious ?..the whole reason of being scammed is you think u can trust them and when you realize they are liars...the bank is supposed to protect and help from this. OBVIOUSLY NOT FREEDOM CREDIT UNION IM SO DISAPPOINTED IN THEM AND HOW THEY HAVE THERE CONTRACT WITH MASTERCARD BC I WANTED TO APPEAL AND THEY SAID I CANT AND THEY HAD THE FINAL WORD! THE LADY THAT I SPOKE TOO I WAS LIKE O GUESS YOU ARE FINE LOSING CUSTOMERS BC SHE JUST SAID SRY MAAM AND ENDED CALL. I SUGGEST YOU BE CAREFUL WITH THIS BANK!!!!!

With them for years, they denied my small auto loan of $10k(With 3k down) because of some unpaid student loans from a discredited school that lost a lawsuit with the state, and the DOE is in the process of forgiving and removing from my credit history. They didnt even talk to me about my situation, just denied me. Everything else on my credit is perfect. And credit unions are supposed to work with you the most. Dont want their business anymore even if they had a change of heart.

Been a customer for over 35 years. 1) When I got laid off several years ago I was treated absolutely like garbage when trying to enquirer about a small LOE loan to get a little cash flow to deal antiques and get by until recall. A Victorja Randall calls over the loan collections coon like I'm a criminal or escape con because I was laid off and busting my butt cutting cordwood and trying to find way to pay their mortgage. 2) Refinanced my mortgage at 2.99 fixed rate and all of a sudden I look at my statement back in July and they are charging me 3 1/8 percent on a fixed loan. Contacted them three times and still waiting for a reasonable explanation. 3) I made an error in math and my last payment was a dime off and placed in drop box on due day They called me 2 days later saying I had to come down to give them the dime and of course now a late fee. Got a real good surprise for them next month where they are going to be kissing my interest bye-bye. Tellers are all nice but the mortgage dept and their interest see ya 3 strikes you are out !!!! Wish Victorja and collection coon would get laid off in difficult times to get a good taste. Stay away much better banks and credit unions to deal with out there that might even treat their customers with a bit of respect. Unfortunately there isn't lower rating than 1 star

This is for the west springfield credit union. Unfortunately they took over west springfield credit union and now I have to deal with them. I've been trying to change my address since BEFORE covid. I have physically gone into the credit union. I have called. I have written many notes with my bill BEGGING to change my address. Every month I EVENTUALLY receive my bill in the mail and it lands every month on the last day or the second to last day of the month and my bill is due the 1st of every month. I have had to physically drive there because the payment would be late if I didn't. This is uncallled for. It's a SIMPLE task to edit my info. Read my other reviews on Yelp. Everyone gets 4 or 5 stars with me. I'm patient. I'm understanding. This credit union is ridiculous and I highly recommend no one through them.
