I've had 12 custom framing projects done here in the past 2.5 years, and I could not be happier with how ever single one has turned out. The whole framing team there is awesome to work with and they are kind and professional. If there has been any issue with any of my projects, they've been totally willing to work with me to make sure it's fixed. I really appreciate them and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I also love their large selection of frames, mattes, and other choices for custom framing.

I am trying to get some needlework custom-framed. It's not going well. Two of the four had the wrong frames. One was off-center. I just went back to pick up the reframed ones. Now the square one was in a rectangle frame and the rectangle one was in a square frame (I suspect they wanted to save money and just reused the wrong frames.) I paid a lot and the work is terrible. They don't care. Don't get things framed here. It's a mess. I'm so upset: I can't get my money back and I can't get halfway decent framing done.

Yesterday, I was in need of two frames. I met the most delightful, knowledgeable and helpful sales associate in the framing section. I didn't catch her name which is my fault but she had long hair and glasses!! She walked me through every aspect of my decision making ... color, quality, style and price. She gave me choices based on what I told her I was looking for. I left Michael's with such a great feeling. I have found Customer service doesn't really exist anymore but it did yesterday... big time ....at Michael's.

If you want to have a crafty birthday party, do NOT ever have it here. I just went to my cousin's daughter's 9th birthday party which was unicorn themed. I walk in to the party crafty room with my 7 year old daughter. The two workers in our party room were very busy tracing and cutting out shapes and we didn't really know what to do. We eventually sat down and waited for a while until they started passing out canvases and told the kids to come get paint. The next two hours were a complete shit show. Our party "hosts" either didn't know that there was a party booked or didn't know what they were doing but it was awful. One guy was cutting out these shapes in felt or fabric while each kid waited, and the girl was looking at a print out of step by step directions of how to do these crafts. So the store put two people to run a birthday party that was completely not prepped (each kid had to wait patiently for the guy to clumsily cut out fabric shapes- shouldn't this be already done before the party?) and they had no idea what they were doing. Each craft seemed to be done on the fly, the kids were sharing one roll of scotch tape to tape on something that obviously should have been glued- and to top it off, there were posters and fliers advertising an awesome birthday party with all these crafts- and they had pictures of what the crafts should look like, and what we were doing was not matching the pictures. We had 3 crafts to do, the first one took an hour (because all the kids were waiting for them to cut it out, set it up, you know- prep work before the party) and then the pizza came and the kids had to do the next craft while they were eating pizza. Then we had to rush the cake at the end while kids were still trying to finish. Whoever sets up the parties needs to get fired, this was truly pitiful and so unprofessional. If my cousin had a craft party at his house it would have been 100 times better. I have no idea how the parents of the birthday girl kept their composure over this because I would have lost my shit. As I left the party, they said that they wanted to speak to the manager and were NOT going to pay for this party. I hope they didn't have to. I would NEVER have a party here. Go to the Everett store, I went to a party there once and it was awesome. I shop at this store all the time, but after this, I don't even want to give them any business at all. They should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

Maddie in framing deserves 5 stars. She is professional and experienced! I trust her with my framing needs and she deserves to be commended! So often this location has hired inexperienced framers and finally hired someone like Maddie who has the qualifications necessary to be framing manager.

I felt compelled to write a review for this location because after being on the phone with multiple other stores, and having some attitudes given and generally lack luster customer service, I was getting discouraged to say the least. I was looking for a specific item that was not available for online order and was told that they weren't planning on a reorder for it. I called Stoneham and got a warm greeting from the customer service rep on the floor, and was on hold for quite a while, which made me worry that my call was possibly forgotten, but NO! She was just going above and beyond to make sure she was looking for the right item and seeing how many there were in store as I needed a number of them. My partner left immediately and drove out to purchase them and when he came in the store they were carefully packing and boxing them for us. It truly made me feel valued as a customer and appreciated as well. I will make sure to visit this location again when I am shopping for arts/crafts supplies.

Went back, prices are pretty good for some items, but other items are way too overpriced. Employees seem to be better than usual too. Very nice.

I shop at a lot of craft stores, and go to this Michaels very often usually every other week for art supplies. This review is negative mainly due to employees rather than the whole store. I was shopping recently and had to search high and low to find an employee to unlock the prismacolor marker case. Most employees recognize me and are very understanding that it takes some time to test markers and figure out which you want exactly and make sure its not a duplicate to what you have already. I had to search very hard to find an employee to unlock the case, a very angry old woman who watched me intently and kept sighing in annoyance as I tested a few markers. She was very rude, and seemed consistently agitated with me for even bothering her so I could look at the markers and kept peering over my shoulder like I was going to steal or something! Which is highly unlikely as this case is monitored by camera anyways on top of being babysat by a disgruntled employee. After I picked my markers, she took them out of my hand and said ' I'm putting them up front, if you want to buy them you can get them at the register' Which I also thought was very rude. I've never had my markers taken from me all the times I've shopped here or at any other Michaels. Honestly I could deal with the prices being higher than A.C Moore, but I can't deal with rude employees who treat you badly. To top it all off, when I mentioned this to a different employee at check out she didn't even seem to be phases and just mumbled a 'sorry' and nothing else. I'm very disappointed in Michaels, I expected better as a long term shopper.

Brand new Michaels in the Redstone Plaza in Stoneham. Even though it's newer though, it doesn't mean the customer service will automatically be better. I've noticed that actually, in most new stores, the customer service seems more inexperienced and sometimes not as great. Unfortunately, that's the issue with this specific store. I came in here to purchase a few things out of the wood department. One of the items I was going to purchase said it was $4.99 on the shelf label, but rang up at $6.99 on the register screen. I asked them to check this and the cashier got extremely annoyed and said there is no one to do that (there was barely anyone in line) and that I would have to take a picture of it. I had no issue doing this but: first, I don't need the attitude and second, I don't HAVE to have a smartphone... if I didn't then what would she have done. Honestly. Michaels in Burlington is older and somewhat worse than this store itself, but the service is more friendly consistently there and I don't get even more eye rolls when I give them a Jo-Ann coupon to use. Honestly, disappointing. Will give this store credit for their good selection and fabulous organization. Just need to improve the service. Since I have been to so many Michaels stores and this was one of the worst experiences, two stars shall serve them right. Never would this happen at Michaels in Westwood (which is also brand new).

Suzanne in the framing department is awesome. She helped me pick out mattes and frames for two posters and it was just a lot of fun working with her. Plus, they came back looking amazing in their new frames.

Went here to pick up twine and masons jars for a little DIY winter holiday project. Grown-up hot chocolate. I had a coupon for 50% off one item and used it for a case of 12 mason jars that I got for under $8. The staff, although busy organizing Christmas decorations, was very helpful. Will be back to this store again for crafting needs.

We live in the next town over, and are very happy to have this new location of Michaels nearby. My daughter is 10 years old, and does a lot of crafting. Is crafting a word? I think it is. I actually found some cool picture frames on Black Friday and got a great deal. Sign up for their email notifications. Deals are often 40-50% in these emails. Happy crafting!
