I live in Marblehead , and I do frequent the small branch in town. However, I still do go to the Swampscott office when I am in the area of Vinnin Square. As usual, everyone in there is wonderful, and always professional, and extremely pleasant to speak with. The drive-through part of the bank is great! Highly recommend all Salem Five branches!!!! I just want to say that I have been going to Salem Five for a long time.(45 years), and I will always be a customer at this bank.

Salem Five is a fine bank if all you're looking for is a simple checking and savings account. But, if you need to do anything more complicated than that, I suggest you find a different bank. For example, if you're a family with kids and want your kids to have debit cards that you can manage jointly, Salem Five really doesn't have offerings for you. If you need to transfer money to a different bank, Salem Five won't do it electronically, they'll make you come to the branch and get a check. If you want to set up online access for your minor child, they'll tell you you have to go into the branch. That might have bee acceptable in the 1970s when I was a little kid with a Salem Five passbook savings account, but that really is not acceptable in 2023.

The Swampscott branch is absolutely inefficient. Several times when I have needed a limit raise it would not work. I'd have to call back to one of the Salem branches to resolve it, which they did, and they said they'd talk to the Swampscott branch. I had once stopped in this branch to notify them of travel and they said that is online only and they don't do travel notes in branch anymore. Fine. Today I asked for a reissue on my card as the chip is melted. Not only are they are looking at the wrong card (I handed them the non working card) from another account, they are looking at an old card trying to tell me it is not active, having to prove to them with my app in hand I had just used it.When they finally figured out which card to reissue, they gave me a brand new card. I specifically asked for this card to be reissued via mail, they said they only reissue if you call and sometimes reissued cards don't work. Excuse me, don't you reissue cards when they expire? Make sense please. This branch was convenient due to location, but training is absolutely lacking and I'm ready to be done with it. Also, maybe apologize for your mistake instead of gaslighting me.On a higher note, the Salem branches have always been helpful and knowledgeable at their job and I wish I went there today instead of Swampscott.

My husband and I had the best customer service in the Swampscott branch. David McCoubrey helped us not once but twice with some cashiers check, a banks letter and bank statement. We spoke on the phone and was very helpful in every way possible. He treated us like we were important customers and we felt in very good hands. He knew every answer to all of our questions. He waited for us and even cut his lunch early to come out and help us. I highly recommend anyone to go see this establishment and see David. He is the best bank teller we have ever en contoured :).

I reccomend Patty Kelly Smith as a stellar example of how all of your employees should represent your brand. Patty opened my business account and was awesome. On June 8th (today) I called Patty to help with my account. I was having trouble logging in online and the day before got no relief from calling the customer service 24 hour line. After speaking with Patty, within 30 minutes a return call and all issues were resolved. I will stick with Salem Five as long as I can get that kind of service.

I've been the happiest customer with Salem for approximately 10 years. So happy that I've recommended this bank to some of my friends and family. Today I visited the Swampscott branch and had such a bad experience. I am well aware of the hours of operation and I would understand if I showed up minutes before closing demanding service, especially during these trying times. I got in line at the drive thru at 4:20 PM thinking that I'd have plenty of time to be taken care of. I waited in line for over 40 minutes just to be ignored and turned away when I finally got to the window. They took care of the car in front of me though and nobody ever came out to stop the line so there were plenty of cars still waiting behind me. Not only is this inconsiderate but it is very unprofessional. I called the bank and I was called a liar when I expressed my frustration about being in line for over 40 minutes and pretty much told tough luck. I will never visit this branch again and this experience makes me want to take my money elsewhere.

My teller Ying was so sweet and accommodating! A+ it was 5:00 on the dot and she welcomed me in to help me with my banking needs, which based on closing time she absolutely didn't need to do. Wonderful service.

First time at this location. The drive-thru is a little confusing. The drive-thru ATM does not take deposits. The woman at the drive thru was not pleasant. Even after a discussion of the deposit, information on the deposit slip, included license there was an issue. Then a young lady came over to discuss. Really, it is only a deposit.

Ask for Harris. This person is very experience and certainly knows what he is doing because he understood my needs right off and completed the transactions. Very knowledgeable, no pressured sales to open accounts etc. Very professional. Beautiful Bank and location, plenty of parking. Get there first thing in the morning and you will be out in no time.
