EDIT… after posting this review I was contacted by management, full of apologies. No refund on the room but a promise of 3000 points towards my membership with them. Unfortunately that was a lie and I have yet to see the points. Maybe they’ll call again after this 2nd review, but I’m not interested. We checked in to our room about 9pm, as soon as we hit the room it reeked of cigarettes, was from the bathroom. Went to front desk, complained and he said he could fix it by spraying something. It did not fix the problem. Disgusting and unacceptable.Rooms: Smells of cigarettes

Me and my boyfriend booked here because it was close to his family for the holidays. Worst experience ever will be contacting corporate and demanding they get this place into shape because it’s disgusting for a holiday inn. Slide in doors when you enter look like they got them used or that they don’t have enough money to get ones that work and look nice, staff smoking weed on their shifts(videos going to corporate)…pretty sure the manager is living there, which makes it even more disturbing…such a terrible experience for a family who spends money during the holiday season expecting a true holiday inn experience. Could not get in to my room 3 times and I was not the only one several guests had key issues. So many issues not enough space to write but we will see what corporate does.

Great overnight stay. Basic hotel. It was clean, bathroom can use minor updates.Breakfast was good, lots of choices. It was buffet style. Eggs, french toast, beef bacon (I was actually really impressed by this) roasted potatoes, oatmeal, breakfast cereals, yogurt, boiled eggs, cinnamon rolls, assortment of breads, Nutella, butter, peanut butter, cream cheese, strawberry cream cheese, fruits, pancake station, fresh juice and coffee with a variety of teas.Would stay again. Friendly staff!

Stayed here last week and I was happy with the staff at the front desk these ladies are awesome. Got me checked in and I was so tired I didn't even realize that my bathroom wasn't cleaned. When I did notice the pubic hair in the bathtub because the drain was working I didn't even bother to take a shower until the next morning. My boyfriend did take a shower next morning and he had no hot water. So I advise if you want to shower in the morning before check out get up early because they don't have the hot water to supply all the hotel rooms in the hotel. But I do like the staff they are really nice.

Would not stay here again. My girlfriend and I had a reservation weeks in advance. We checked in 12:15am. Our original room had a leak from the bathroom that made it all the way to the entrance. We were upgraded to a king suite since there were no other standard king rooms available. Our next attempt at a room had the lock holding the door open. We had noticed cleaning product all over the bathtub and a used cleaning rag. We were given another king suite room. This time we could not get into the room because our keys weren’t working. When they finally got us into the room we discovered the deadbolt was not working. Our fourth attempt at a room was another king suite where the bathtub was visibly dirty as if hadn’t been cleaned for weeks. And the person working the front desk went to check the room prior to handing us keys since we had 3 rooms with issues. He said it was good, clean, and the lock worked. We got settled into a room around 1am and spent 45 minutes going back and forth between rooms and check in. Hotel management faults our experience because they’re having plumbing maintenance. But plumbing has nothing to do with a faulty lock or not cleaning. They offered points towards our IHG account equivalent to a one night stay. They said that was sufficient since we ultimately got a room and were upgraded. Not really much of an upgrade since 3 suites were not up to quality and the additional time it took to check in to something we reserved in advance. We have yet to receive those points. And when we do receive them we will not be staying here again because of their low standards and how poorly management has handled the situation.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Swansea, an IHG Hotel. The standout feature of my experience was the exceptional staff, especially Melissa. She went above and beyond to assist me in recovering an item I had left behind, displaying a level of dedication and helpfulness that truly impressed me. Melissa's commitment to ensuring guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay was evident throughout my visit.Another highlight of the hotel was the fantastic swimming pool. It was well-maintained, clean, and provided a perfect spot for relaxation and recreation. Whether I wanted to take a refreshing dip after a long day or simply lounge by the poolside, it added an extra layer of enjoyment to my stay. Lastly, the rooms at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Swansea were spacious and meticulously maintained. The cleanliness and attention to detail in the room's upkeep made for a comfortable and pleasant environment, ensuring that my stay was both relaxing and stress-free. Overall, I had a highly satisfying experience at this IHG Hotel, largely thanks to the exceptional staff, excellent amenities like the swimming pool, and well-kept rooms.

This hotel was great for what we needed. We spent most of our day in Providence (it was a last-minute trip), so I grabbed a hotel near the area. I'm giving it a 3 mostly because it was good for the 1 night I was there. I'm not sure about the area but it didn't look like much was going on. Front desk staff were very nice and the buffet was great.Rooms: The room was great for our party of 4. Beds were comfortable, the room had a microwave which is great if you have little kids.Food & drinks: For a more affordable hotel, the buffet is really good, very clean and lots of options for everyone.Noteworthy details: Front desk people are great, thank you to Paige who took the time to recommend a few restaurants in the Providence area (the District restaurant did not disappoint!)

Having work done on the house. Insurance put us up here. Front staff is awesome, breakfast is great. First week all was well, house keeping was good. Second week all went bad. Still here, last 2 days beds not made, no towels, baskets not empty... Great place, just don't stay long.Rooms: Nice but not kept up.

Coming to stay for 5 days at a time can be a challenge. Front desk service almost always has long lines and waits. The hot water runs out quickly and it's not always possible to take a shower as the water is icy. The walls are thin as you can hear everyone else's TV on, conversations, and children running up and down the hall. The breakfast could Definitely use a makeover as there is no variety. Same eggs and meats every day in the hot plates. Otherwise not a bad place to stay.

Staff was nasty. U couldn't tell who was staff and who was staying there. The 2nd shift manager thought he was the best thing since sliced bread. We stayed there for a softball tournament. There was a lot of us. He told us he was tue only one that worked hard there the only one that new what was going on. Told us to go to are room or we would be kicked out. . The place was dirty mold in my room looked like wash blood stains on the sheets stains on the floor. Molding chipped . Staff had no clue where the ice machine was. As of now and going to be 3 calls I have 2 charges on my credit card and no one can tell me why $400+ and $200+ and there is one elevator for the interior hotel there was a wait every time u needed one. The key did not work for the room had to go to get it fixed 7 times . not a fun timeRooms: Dirty

Nice big rooms. Check in staff very helpful. I wanted an early check in and Julio the housekeeping manager saw to it himself that my room was ready as quickly as possible- 2 pm. The breakfast was very good with a lot of variety. Bed was very comfortable and the pillows were soft and yet supportive for a side sleeper. I need a dark room to sleep in and the Room darkening shade worked great! The only drawback is that the room had no safe. But, it had all the the other amenities - refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. AC kept the room nice and cool. There is no walkable eating place or shopping nearby, definitely need a car.

Its a little out of the way, but a great location near Bristol. Plenty to do In the area. I think the beds are made out of angle feathers because I've never been on anything that makes me sleep through my alarms. Same with the pillows. Some amenities need maintenance (washer and dryer) but if your only staying for a weekend it's a nice place to check IntoNearby activities: Newport, Bristol, local breweries and small business shops.
