The most popular place on Martha’s Vineyard? The Black Dog in one of its ubiquitous iterations? The Gay Head cliffs? Mad Martha’s? Nay I say!! Shirley’s hardware is my answer. I don’t believe a single room in any house on the island hasn’t been connected somehow to Shirley’s, before or after the advent of Ice Cream. And the nice and helpful people who run it are the best.

I love this place! No visit to the island is complete without a visit to Shirleys! They have everything you need and the store itself is just awesome.

Great true hardware store with a little bit of everything located in the middle of Martha's Vineyard. A great resource when you need something you forgot to bring on the ferry. Everything from traditional Hardware to electronics, suntan lotion, etc.

Can't see how Martha's Vineyard magazine votes this place the number 1 hardware store on the island. The staff was not helpful and acted like they couldn't be bothered. Too bad there isn't a Home Depot around.

As an employee ive learned most of the ins and outs of the store we have a very large veriaty of goods and if we dont have what you need we atleast have a good idea where you can find what you need

Been going to Shirley's before they moved up the hill. I've never been disappointed. Service is helpful and knowledgeable. If Shirley's doesn't have it you don't need it. I wonder if Jessie is still cutting keys?

They had exactly what I was looking for. In the range of the price I was hoping to pay. Without my asking the woman at the register radioed a young man who (with a GREAT attitude) helped me load my items into the back of my car.
