“We got married at Willowdale in September 2026 during a nor’easter. First of all, Willowdale and its staff are prepared for EVERYTHING. Our ceremony got moved under the tent due to the storm and all of our guests told us the next day they forgot all about the weather because of how smoothly everything ran. The weather gave us a reason to be disappointed, but our day was perfect despite it! Every inch of the venue both inside and outside is stunning, so the wedding was still gorgeous without being able to use the courtyard. Because the venue has so much character, we didn’t need to spend much on decor!

Throughout our 18 months working with Willowdale (from booking our date to the big day), everything was smooth, easy, and fun. Willowdale is incredibly professional and experienced without seeming stuffy or corporate. They made us feel really important, listened to all of our ideas, and made suggestions to help us have a flawless event. It was always a joy emailing with or talking to any of the staff.

We worked with Jordan, our wedding coordinator, over the final few months of planning and through the day of our wedding. She is super responsive, creative, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and warm! Having her present throughout the process honestly made it feel like she was just another one of our friends at the wedding with how well she anticipated what we needed. She brought such a sense of calm to our day, made sure everything was in order, and took care of things we didn’t even think of. Thanks to her, we were really able to be present during our wedding day and focus on each other!

Sherena, our Coach House attendant for me and my bridesmaids on the day of the wedding, was also terrific. She was really kind, energetic, and attentive!

“My August 2026 wedding was held at The Commons and I cannot recommend this venue enough. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous and incredibly well maintained. Guests raved about the delicious food, especially the filet mignon. It was a generous portion cooked to perfection. Cocktail hour appetizers were delicious and plentiful as well. The staff members at The Commons are professional and very responsive to any question or concern from start to finish. They moved seamlessly on wedding day and took care of absolutely everything. This is a great venue that truly has it all - beauty, great food, great staff, GREAT WEDDING!”

“We held our wedding here in March 2026 and could not have asked for a better experience. From the very first conversation, Allison and her team made us feel completely supported. Wedding planning can be overwhelming, but we never once felt like we were navigating it alone — they were with us every step of the way, communicating clearly and consistently throughout the entire process.

The venue itself is a beautiful blank slate, which we loved because it gave us the freedom to bring our own vision to life. It is even more stunning in person than in the pictures. The space was transformed into something warm, inviting, and truly stunning. Seeing it all come together on the day was an emotional moment we'll never forget.

With 230 guests, we were a little nervous about the space feeling cramped, but it was absolutely no issue. Everyone had plenty of room, and the large central dance floor was an absolute hit — it was packed all night long.

We lost count of how many guests pulled us aside to say it was one of the best weddings they had ever attended. That kind of feedback means everything, and so much of the credit goes to Allison and her incredible team. Their hard work and genuine care made our wedding day everything we had dreamed of.

“I recently discovered Eat Drink Explorer Provisions in Peabody, and I’m so glad I did! My son lives in Peabody and was hosting a birthday party for his father, and I wanted to keep everything local. I ordered the cheese and charcuterie platter and the Green Goddess platter, and they were absolutely beautiful — true works of art!

Day, the owner, does an incredible job. Everyone at the party commented on how gorgeous the platters were and how delicious everything tasted. The quality, presentation, and selections were all top notch.

Having Day herself deliver the platters was such a nice touch. She is hardworking, talented, and clearly passionate about what she does. I can’t wait to try her sandwiches and other offerings in the future. I also love that she offers individual cheese and charcuterie plates — such a great idea!

“We just enjoyed our wedding day at Tupper Manor! From the minute we toured the venue, my husband and I knew this was where we wanted to celebrate our big day!
The venue's decor with stained glass windows, windows overlooking the ocean, and beautiful fireplaces was exactly what we were looking for.
It was such a pleasure working with David and Colby throughout the planning process and on the day of. They were responsive and coordinated. There were so many little details from the day that they coordinated that made my husband and I feel special.
On the day of the wedding, the bridal suite on the second floor was amazing. I was able to spend the morning with my bridal party enjoying breakfast, lunch, and hair and makeup with them without ever having to leave the venue.
All of the staff throughout the day was amazing. From the servers for cocktail hour and dinner, to the staff working the ice cream bar, and the bartenders, everyone was professional, kind, and very conscientious of Joe and I.

The theater does not have its own parking. There are a couple of small lots off Federal and Chapman streets that I usually find a spot in, but get there early as there are also a number of good restaurants in the immediate area so parking is tight.”

“We used the boathouse for a casual brunch after my December 14 wedding and could not have loved the space more! It was such a unique setting for our guests, and the kayaks provided such a fun backdrop. Added bonus is ample parking in the lot out front - hard to come by in Old Town! They were incredible to work with and we would highly recommend considering for your next event.”

“Hands down the best stable! All of the staff are responsive and kind, and they put so much care into teaching and taking care of the horses. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, and they offer great lessons, leasing, and boarding. Anyone can enjoy lessons, no matter your age.

The office complex is centrally located with easy access to major highways. It is adjacent to beautiful Lake Quannapowitt and offers access to walking trails. The Lakeside Park is well maintained and the owners continually upgrade and improve the property. Price per square inch is fair and reasonable. The Management Team quickly responds to the tenants’ needs and concerns. My relationship with the Lakeside Park Management Group has been outstanding from the beginning.”

“My (brand new!) husband and I held our rehearsal dinner here in June and it was perfect. Our 32 guests had a specious, semi-private space at the back of the restaurant and it was absolutely lovely. Ricky, the event coordinator, patiently responded to all my questions and the staff did an incredible job setting up the space. The food was reasonably priced and delicious (we went with steak tips, shrimp scampi and chicken, broccoli and penne)! All our guests raved about the food. The atmosphere was lovely, the playlist was great! I cannot recommend this venue enough for your next event. “We were there about 3 months ago while a group celebrating a 15 year olds birthday. The entire party was obnoxiously loud and disrespectful to everyone else at the club. Luckily the manager Brian went and shut them down. They were very argumentative towards Brian but he stood his ground and ended the party.”

“We recently hosted a company event at Essex Sports Complex and had a great experience. The staff was extremely accommodating and easy to work with throughout the process. The facility is clean, well run, and made for a great venue for our event. We also loved having Dunkin’ right there, and the Italian restaurant onsite was excellent for dinner. Highly recommend!”

“Lovely old hotel with plenty of older worlde character. Great lobby area. The Tavern, off the lobby, was also full of character and great standard of meals. Only drawback with our room no.617 was having to negotiate the toilet which protruded across the doorway.”

“We stayed here for our trip to Boston/Salem/MV/Gloucester. The room was small but it was clean and the hotel was quiet. AC/heater was loud. If you are not planning to be in the room very much and are looking for a room with the basics, it was fine. It is not upscale nor is it low level. Staff could have been more friendly and welcoming when we arrived. Great proximity to the areas mentioned above. Nice photo op near the fountain.

Nearby activities: Quick drive to Salem, Boston, Gloucester and about 1& 1/2 hrs. to New Bedford for the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard.”

“Our visit was during the week 1 night from out of state. Plenty of parking, great customer service, and the room was spacious and clean. Not too far from Boston Children’s Hospital just give yourself time for traffic. We would definitely stay again.”

“Good rooms. Clean and updated. The location on the little highway makes it a pain to get food unless you go to the Starbucks or restaurant next door. Great location between Boston and Salem which was the purpose of our visit.”

“This hotel is exactly what you pay for. No more, no less. We had a room with 2 double beds. It was so small that my husband and I could not both open our suitcases at the same time. Lol. The beds were very hard and springy. HOWEVER... we could tell that the room was relatively clean. At least the importance parts. The bathroom was very clean and the bedding seemed very clean. Those two things are huge! And the shower was perfect! Pleanty of water preasure and hot water. The carpet had some stains. There were some smudge marks from Fingerprints on some of the surfaces. But those are not things that give me the ick feeling. So who cares?! Not me. The price was right!
The hotel itself is very dated and you can tell that the owners have tried to modernize it, but maybe they didn't have it in their budget to consult a designer. Who cares?! Not me. The price was right. The breakfast tasted like it might of come from the local food pantry, and the coffee was yuck...but WHO CARES?! Not me. The price was right.
Anyway, if you need affordable, safe, clean stay here.”
