I have some older equipment than needed checking over and servicing. I shipped it to Goodwins and Jim Fuller took extremally good care of me. Checking the components and only replacing those that were out of spec. Jim and the team really know their stuff and know how to take care of customers.

Godwin's is a vampire den organized to drain vast amounts of money from rich dummies to sell them crappy dime store components at insane mark-ups so they can brag to their yuppy friends about these 'incredible finds!'Walked in once to discuss replacing a Nikko set up - from the glory years, beautiful rig - and the guy lit into me like the ruthless thug he is: how much you got to spend!? Huh? How much you think you can spend!? What, just how much, were you thinking you can spend?! I really had no idea. I just said a thousand or two to see where he would go or if he would draw down and mug me or demand that I sign over the registration on my car. He laughed at me, 'Nothing, you'll get nothing for that. Get a boom box from Targets'.True me. Unless you can walk in with 10.000 dollars in cash and hand it to them, you'll get nothing but abuse from these clowns. Even then, they'll hand you a table radio and tell you that you got a discount that they usually 'only give white people.'

We can only give the highest ratings to Goodwins. Dana was absolutely amazing. He came to our home, looked at our existing equipment, and offered several excellent alternatives to replacing some worn out devices. He suggested very reasonably priced alternatives that would fit our life style. When the equipment arrived, he was incredibly talented in making the connections work during installation. He was amazingly patient with us in the context of teaching us how to use the new units.Without a doubt, we recommend that you look no further in purchasing audio equipment. Their expertise and service is brilliant!

I've visited the store on a number of occasions. Very welcoming, knowledgeable, and easy going yet obviously serious about what they do. Today a number of customers enjoyed an open house session listening to the newly released and remastered Abbey Road by The Beatles on one of their high end systems. Don't let the main street shop front fool you. This is no ordinary store. Inside are a number of listening rooms where you can audition a multitude of audio and home theatre systems. Prices are fair and I got a bargain on an open box item so don't be afraid to ask!

I was invited to a Beatles' listening session by Malcolm. Such an amazing experience, this place is truly special. Highly recommend for anyone interested in audio of any kind.

A truly great high end stereo shop. While I haven't been to every hi-fi store, I think Goodwin's is the best in New England... and maybe then some...

Took my old LP12 turntable to these guys for a set up and additional work. The work took exceptionally long, due to improper intake and handling by an employee who I learned later was leaving the company--this was frustrating. However, the work was excellent and the store manager went out of his way to make good on the departed employee's mistake. Probably the best tech for working on Linns and probably most turntables.

The experience there was GREAT when Al Moulton worked there. He was friendly, knew his stuff, and not pushy. Without him, the service has gone to zero. I was working with him to upgrade a system, but can't go back there now since their service sucks so bad now. No callbacks, no follow up, nothing. Pissy attitude on the phone. Hire Al back, please! You guys are nothing without him.
