Avoid living here. The management sends you a notice of noise complaints about “heavy footsteps after 10 PM” even when you’re not even awake at that time. I’ve never felt so unfairly treated or insulted in my life. Instead of addressing residents respectfully and verifying facts, they jump straight to baseless accusations. This is not the kind of experience anyone deserves in their own home

The leasing office’s new staff member, Simeng, is rude and unhelpful. Both my wife and I have had unpleasant experiences interacting with her. She assists people reluctantly and even looks away at her screen while they’re talking to her. She also tends to reject any request that requires even a little bit of effort.
For those considering this apartment:
Overall, the facilities in the apartments are new and well-maintained. The leasing office generally takes care of issues such as lost packages. However, if you're sensitive to noise, I would not recommend living here. The buildings literally shake when large trucks pass by, and garbage trucks occasionally arrive very early in the morning to wake everyone up.

Expensive, poorly maintained. Something is always broken or not working. There’s always an excuse or a contractor who isn’t holding up their end of the bargain. For 3-4k a month, spend your money elsewhere

My friend and I were interested in the apartment, so we scheduled a tour. The apartment itself didn’t have any major issues. However, the experience with the leasing office was disappointing. The staff member we spoke with was rude and unprofessional. She seemed to have difficulty understanding our questions and gave vague and unclear answers. When I tried to clarify, she appeared offended that I was asking again. Throughout the visit, she was quite impatient. It’s mental that any office would hire someone with such poor customer service skills.

Where to begin
First of all, in October 2024, I signed a lease for 3255 for 750 square feet and it is not worth the price at all. I can hear someone sneeze on the sidewalk from my bedroom with all windows closed, that’s how thin the walls are. Secondly, it’s tonnssss of college students. People running up and down halls and stomping everywhere and nothing was done about it for weeks .. community manager “addressed it” yet it never stopped. Living here has been a rip off.. over 3k for such poor quality..I knew within one month I wouldn’t be renewing my lease. Most recently, community manager reached out because I answered the property survey negatively and said I wouldn’t be renewing. When he reached out to see if there was anything he could do, I asked him to please ensure my work orders were addressed while I was out of the country for 2 weeks. He assured me they would be.. well I came home to my toilet still running AND dirty brown water in my washing machine that wouldn’t drain (hence the service request). Too many issues in one place to be charging this much. Choose another place to live!

My husband and I went to go and view the Merc over the weekend after obsessing over it for months. Beyond beautiful, it was everything we wanted. However, the service we received from the leasing officer downstairs completely put us off. She was not interested, had zero insight into the questions we were asking and just it genuinely felt like we were trying to convince her that the place was great- not the other way around. Because of this, we have decided not to move forward with the Merc. Is that is the service at the leasing office- what would the general service be likely? I wanted to be excited.

I lived at the Merc since 2019 and I used to love living here because it was a peaceful community with management that cared about its residents. Unfortunately, things have changed dramatically in the last six months. After multiple excessive noise disturbances coming from the same neighbor that severely affected my quality of life, I reported the issues through the proper channels. Instead of addressing the problem, management not only ignored the disturbances but also threatened that my lease might not be renewed if I continued to assert my rights as a tenant.
It’s disheartening to see a building that once prioritized a respectful and safe environment shift to an attitude of “we don’t care.” Rather than protecting all residents, management seems to favor those who cause disturbances while punishing those who try to reclaim their rights to a peaceful living space. I urge prospective tenants to be aware of this concerning change before making their decision.

Nice location. Next to multiple trails. Garage has car vacuum and air pump, like the gas stations.

Visited a friend in her spacious, luxurious 2BR apartment. High ceilings, great location and a zillion amenities make this *the* place to rent in Waltham.

The apartment was a mess when I moved in. Even professional cleaners could not get whatever out of the stove. The fridge and freezer had stains that would not come out. The kicker - there are water stains on my ceiling that I did not notice on the walk through. Oh, and rainwater leaks (with bird poop" in the garage. That's why there is "free" parking- except you are spending money on car washes instead of parking fee. The sad thing is Northland is just as uncaring as other landlords because no landlord treats their tenants well.

We have been homeowners for almost 30 years now and when we moved to Waltham for a job opportunity, we decided to try living right downtown within walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores, walking trails, and public transit. The Merc at Moody and Main more than fit the bill. The leasing and move in process was easily a 5 star rating because of the stellar staff that worked as a team to address any questions that we had about our unit. I reserved my review until we had been here a while and I could give an overall review of the entire property-still an easy 5! I can not say enough about everyone from the maintenance guys, the grounds crew, the housekeeping staff that greets my dog and I each morning when we go out for a walk, and the friendly residents. So many positives happening in this community. Jeff and staff keep the place decorated and warm for every holiday season and I'm not sure they even know how much those efforts make The Merc feel like home. They also work tirelessly to plan activities for us all to enjoy and get to know each other and their doors are always open when we need them. I really wasn't expecting to be in a place where I no longer miss having our own property. We love living here and being a part of this amazing community.

My family and I have just moved in, and it has been a great experience. Susan has been very accommodating during the move-in process and afterward, always willing to answer questions and help. The buildings are clean, and the amenities are excellent!

Best place to live, close to everything and very secured. I love my apartment ♥️? I would recommend the Merc 100 %.
