Hardwick, MA. Look at Yelp and you'll get a more accurate picture. A business worth anything will honor a customer reservation. SQM doesn't have a clue how to track orders and even worse, there's no accountability. What you did manage to do is double-charge..$102.00 and $119.00- I just checked my account. $221.00 for one 15 lb. turkey?? Conveniently, no computer there. The staff person went from snarkily sniping, "I don't know, I just work here." to being so decidedly certain that I hadn't paid anything. Based on what exactly...your faulty memory? With no supporting documentation she then insisted that I had paid only a $60.00 deposit. Wrong.. try $102.00 on Oct. 15th. She then swiped my card for the FULL AMOUNT of... $119.00??? That price is for a bigger turkey. She didn't even deduct the $60.00 deposit she argued with me about. She shouldn't have charged anything at all... Try this at a bank. This is money; documentation is a must. Customer service was bordering on abusive. After all this, she acted as if I should be happy just to get a turkey at all. I drove an hour out of my way and was still charged $25.00 for delivery.. She's in for a rude awakening in life because no place I've worked in would tolerate attitude like that. If you advertise delivery only to reneg at the last minute, at least remove the $25.00 delivery fee. How can you expect us to sympathize with your staffing issues when you've given no thought or reparations to the customers whom you charged the $25.00? The ridiculous pricing for a turkey warrants white glove service- not this. Not that I expected it..but the basics would have been nice- not the haughty attitude I got upon my first attempt to ask a simple question. I shouldn't have to walk on eggshells. She wasn't just rude, she was mean and obviously accustomed to having people put up with it (I'm not that person.). The cavalier attitude as if we should just pay the extra $ was ridiculous. It's MONEY..you can't just wing it. Stop blaming the Pandemic. This was a refusal to keep a basic accounting plus refusal to accommodate (acting instead, as if we should accommodate you). Without basic accounting and order-tracking you can't run a business. Too many are taking advantage the Pandemic get away with what was once unthinkable. This Pandemic killed the last shred of personal responsibility. I drove an hour through bumble*&^% WMass off the 32, where pickup trucks tailgate you if you're "only" speeding 20 miles over the speed limit (always the same toxic demographic). I only ordered it because it was supposed to come with delivery. They waited until the last minute to inform me that no delivery was happening.. and I only found out because I called. After paying $102.00 online and having to drive out there- there should have been a turkey waiting there for me with my name on it and with NO issues. This is the last time I support a local farm in this area. People won't keep coming if you treat them like garbage and expect them to shut up and pay all this extra money we don't owe. For a $102.00 up-front so-called reservation (plus $119.00 more) we shouldn't be treated as if we're lucky to get a turkey. The owner gave herself a 5 star review. Sad. If you need to do that it's a bad sign. I have zero faith they'll adjust the charges. My bank will make it right if this place doesn't. By the way, a supermarket bag that costs $1 can hold a turkey. Bought in bulk, they cost even less. Your decision to present the turkeys in flimsy plastic bags that rip immediately showed poor judgment and symbolizes the disdainful and cavalier attitude you have toward your customers. It is you who should be grateful to have any customers at all. This was, hands down, the most horrible food-related customer service I've experienced. I normally get a turkey at the store; all the hype about not enough turkeys was just that... hype.

Horrible. Double-charged me for a turkey due to their failure to document and track orders and payments. Charged for delivery after making me drive an hour to pick up the turkey. Made no effort to adjust charges.. This is an abuse.. It does not pay to support local farms. They have no appreciation. No ability to track orders or payments. If you can't even do that much, as a BUSINESS, you might as well light a match and start over... better yet, leave it burned down.

Bought a heritage breed turkey, 16 lbs. worst bird we have ever purchased. Was clearly bruised prior to processing and still sold at a premium price, turkey leg was broken, I finished plucking. Wanted more for my money

I ordered turkey thighs, pies and side dishes. Upon arrival at the farmstand nothing had been prepared. Thighs were not available and I got drumsticks instead. Since it was the day before Thanksgiving, I had no option but to settle for this. Thankfully I still had Misty Knoll quarters in the freezer because the drumstick were tough as nails with very little edible meat. They were not cheap. It was a big mistake to order online.

The people are awesome and the quality of meat is even better. Ive shopped at the store in Worcester which i really enjoyed but its worth the ride out to the farm. There is something to be said to be able to talk to the people who raise and produce your food. Beautiful ride, great selection and you can also hit Hardwick Winery a minute down the road. First visit today but I’ve been drooling over her pix on FB. Can’t wait to try all of the different sausages that I purchased, and it was great chatting with Kate.

Definitely won't be going back. I ordered a thanksgiving turkey for pickup at a farmer's market. Ordered a medium turkey (16-19 pounds), when I picked it up I was told all turkey's were on the smaller side so mine would be closer to 16 pounds. I double checked with the guy to make sure it was the right size (medium) since there was no weight marked on the turkey, but when I got home and weighed the turkey it was only 13.2 pounds. This is far from what I'd expect after paying $115 for a turkey.

Another hidden gem in Worcester awaits you at Stillman Quality Meats at 157 Harding Street in Worcester (next to The Queen's Cups). This welcome addition to the Canal District has everything for the discriminating carnivore: six or seven different kinds of house-made sausage, all kinds of homemade deli meats both usual and unusual, unique finds like lamb bacon, and an exceptional selection of locally sourced cheese, pasta, soups and prepared foods. Lindsay, who helped me with my first purchase there (the first of many, I know), offered a sample of the store's corned beef. I felt like I was back in my grandmother's kitchen 50 years ago -- the taste was that old-fashioned goodness that is so elusive anymore. They carry award-winning local goat cheese and a great selection of cheese in general, maple syrup, and best of a** Rose 32 bread on Thursday through Sunday. When on Harding Street be sure to check out this bright new store in a beautiful space.
