I have had a Tamarack Ghost fan for more than a decade. The fan has been great, and I use it seasonally. In 12 years, I have replaced a very expensive fan motor that failed after only 7 years (order 193618), a bracket for the damper doors, and now I need a limit switch. I contacted support and they answered quickly, saying that for $525 plus freight I could return the fan for service. I inquired about the cost of just the limit switch, given the price, and then they advised "we won’t assist in an over the phone field repair." Well, I may have loved the fan but I think the company sucks. What kind of support is that? Ludicrous to think that I would ship a fan clear across the country for a repair that could be made locally. Is it too much to ask for a company to assist a customer with a remote repair? I have since purchased a replacement for my Ghost fan from another company with a fan with which I hope to have better service and support.

I replaced an old 30\" whole house fan with only aluminum gravity dampers to seal it from the attic, The hallway was cold in the winter and you could feel the heat radiating from louvers in the summer. Attic temps range from -5', winter, to 135'F in the summer. New fan has been in for a month now, works perfectly, low speed is quiet, dampers open and close and seal very well, no more cold drafts in Hallway. The key fob for remote control is a nice feature.

Got the perfect balance interior door vent. Works perfectly for a bathroom in our log cabin in Alaska. The website wouldn't let me order since I was in Alaska. When I called the customer service apologized and shipped it priority mail for free! Thanks for the excellent service and recognizing that Alaska is part of the US.

Poor product and poor customer service. I purchased a newly built home that had the whole house fan installed by the developer. Unknown to us the fan was defective and one of the self sealing doors would not open. This created a problem with condensation in the home. I called their offices to get it serviced. They told me they don't service their product by sending a technician. I have to remove the fan and send it to them. I Would not recommend this product to anyone and if I can give it no stars I would.

If you are in the market for a whole house fan, please folks, look elsewhere. I bought the HV1450 on Ebay. The purchase transaction was excellent. The box arrived undamaged. I have not had time to install the fan until about one week ago. Instructions are a bit tricky if you are not handy like myself. I did hire an electrician to wire the fan in. After spending hours figuring out how to install it, borrowing tools etc, I successfully installed the fan. Turned the fan on, both small fan motors worked and, and, and.....not much. We could not feel any air movement. Ok, so we experimented with opening windows to generate the best possible breeze/air exchange, even let the thing run all night long. In doing so, we also had to run our ceiling fans. to "feel" cooled off. Not being a handy person, I finally called the company and asked what I can do to get the best results. They told me that the 1450 in the model number denotes that it pulls about 1450 cfm (cubic feet of air per minute) and I should have done some calculations to determine if the fan was right for me. Both people I talked with from the company said the unit was too small for my home. I asked what recourse I had at this point. The companies official response was NOTHING! Since the unti has been installed, I was up Buzzards Bay without a fan to cool the house. Turns out my 30 days was up 4 days ago. The very nice lady said I could buy another one at $450 plus shipping or buy a more expensive $700 dollar one. I've done a bit of research since, you can go to your local home supply store and buy one that actually moves air at about 6000 cfm for half the price. And if for some reason it doesn't work out for you, you can return it for a full refund. I am not at all impressed with Tamarack Techonogies. Peligro!
