Watertown Riverfront Park and Braille Trail is a beautiful outdoor space ideal for walkers, joggers, and bikers. Visitors can enjoy a lovely trail that features wildlife such as snapping turtles, ducks, and geese. The park has been recently improved with raised paths, benches, and lookouts, making it an inviting area for nature lovers. However, some sections of the trail still need widening and paving to meet ADA compliance standards. The park offers shaded areas, making it a great spot for summer walks, but bug spray is recommended due to the stagnant water. Although the playground is currently under construction and not ADA compliant, plans for improvements are underway. The park is dog-friendly, with some doggy bag stations available, and a designated dog park along the trail. Visitors appreciate the quiet atmosphere, beautiful views, and opportunities for relaxation, such as reading by the water. While the park is still a work in progress, with suggestions for additional benches, lighting, and educational placards, it remains a peaceful oasis in the city, offering a perfect place for outdoor activities and enjoying nature. Parking is available, but visitors should be mindful of the two-hour limit.
Nice walk with lots of wildlife: snapping turtles, longneck birds, ducks, geese. The geese sometimes block the trail but they'll move if you ask them nicely, just be patient.
