Re: Complaint Regarding 2012 Chevy Cruze LT Purchased in September 2020
To Whom It May Concern,
In September 2020, at the age of 18, I purchased a 2012 Chevy Cruze LT from your Webster location. At the time of sale, I was told that the vehicle was fully serviced and in good condition, with prior ownership by an older gentleman. I put $2,100 down, and the vehicle had approximately 129,000 miles.
Since that time, I have experienced constant and costly mechanical issues that should have been addressed before the sale. Within the first six months, the throttle body failed, and I was charged by Harbro for the repair. Since then, I have paid for an extensive list of repairs including, but not limited to: catalytic converter, new belt, battery, four fuel injectors, premium oxygen sensor, mass air flow sensor, solenoid valve, ignition coil, multiple spark plug replacements, eight tires, brakes and rotors, valve cover gasket, fuses, and a horn. There is also an ongoing oil leak that I later discovered was documented prior to my purchase but never disclosed. Now main bearings and my front strut are also in need of replacing.
In total, I have paid off $8,000 on the vehicle itself, not including the thousands of dollars in repairs I’ve invested. At 185,000 miles, the vehicle continues to break down. This situation has placed a severe financial burden on my family, especially now that I am 23 with an infant child and a partner who depends on this car for work transportation.
I feel that Harbro misrepresented the condition of this vehicle at the time of purchase, took advantage of me as a young and inexperienced buyer, and failed to uphold your advertised values as a family-friendly business.
I am formally requesting the following resolution:
• A written acknowledgment of this complaint.
• A fair reimbursement or compensation for the documented major repairs I have had to cover.
• Consideration for a trade-in credit or assistance toward a safe and reliable vehicle.
If this issue is not addressed, I will have no choice but to pursue further action through the Better Business Bureau, the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, and public consumer review platforms.
I expect a response within 14 days of receipt of this letter.

Fair prices, at least on the window, until you notice their 4,000 dollar “finance charge”, very deceptive and sleazy dealership.

Nothing but good things to say about Harbro. When shopping for a car, I didn't feel at all pressured when I was looking around here. Zach greeted me and was very helpful answering questions, and he was very friendly. I didn't feel the least but pressured. They let you take a test drive on your own so you can take the time to test everything and make sure you like the car, without someone breathing down your neck. They are very honest at Harbro, too. The price you see is what you get, no strings attached. It includes the sales tax and all the fees!

Great place, the folks try Hard and give their all to help you, even when we the customer are at are worst Harboro staff shine the best. They are polite, kind and very understanding. Im just hard headed and snappy lol, but they continue to impress. I'll buy all my vehicles from them. Prices are very welcoming and the services are just top notch. Great job Aaron, Sales Team. Went in this morning to have what I thought waS a windshield washer pump that was no good wasn't spraying the wash fluid... I bought one online a week ago incase that was the issue and would already have the part,, which the part i brought was what he needed.The mechanic, I don't know his name but real nice installed the pump in 10 minutes. It was defective, didn't work! Aaron the other mechanic, real nice too called around and had one delivered. Took 10 minutes to deliver i believe.. The mechanic whos name I don't know again, real nice guy, installed it in 5 minutes. Worked like a charm. Great guys, and I was only there with them having have to end up ordering the part it took a total of about 30 minutes. I've been going to them for years.

Honestly the only dealership I will ever do business with. We have purchased 5 vehicles in 10 years from Harbro. Mike helped us when we had almost no chance at all 10 years ago, as the years past and our credit improved we always came back for an upgrade. They have a great maintenance team as well. Aaron is top notch mechanic and can do anything from a oil change, timing belt, to electrical diagnostics. Just a honest team with customer satisfaction as a driving mission.
