Must have changed management or something they are overly ambitious with their pricing . The whole point to going was to get a deal and donate . But they are asking for retail and then some for used items . Don't be greedy and remember you actually want people buying the FREE stuff you get .
No need to respond with your tales of what the salvation army does i am well versed but perhaps include all the write offs and financial assistance you get aswell . I don't mind donating and have done so frequently but I'm not going to be taken advantage of either

Should honestly be ashamed of themselves and the way they are screwing the community. It’s a slap in the face to the ridiculous prices tagged on the merchandise.

Crazy prices!!! I used to be a huge fan of this location up until a couple weeks ago. Nothing much under 10$ and NOTHING is good quality. They get everything they sell for free, and they feel the need to charge us 10$+ per item now. If you live in this area i definitely recommend trying east coast thrift (Spencer), Salvation Army in Worcester, or local consignment shops. It annoys me because consignment shops used to be considered more “pricy” now they are cheaper than any thrift chains around. Online thrifting is also cheaper as well. On whatnot I can buy 1-5 things for under 15$ including shipping. Please don’t come here!!

When I come to this store, it always smells REALLY BAD. the prices are so overpriced i’d rather just buy it new. the staff doesnt seem to care about anything but i don’t really care about the staff part more just the smell and the fact that a paid of shoes is $20!!!

Horrible store- over priced, horrible customer service. Workers are rude and inconsiderate. Need new workers. So disappointed.

Over price ain't the word! Ill stick to Savers in Worcester. 80 bucks for a mini mini fridge while you can get something bigger & newer for the same price is crazy! I will never donate or buy from this store. Its suppose to be affordable prices! A blanket for 15 bucks. I can get that at Savers for $5. You ppl are money hungry savages! You are NOT here for the people.

I think some reviewers have forgotten this place is charity that contributes to our community. There are limited resources and staff trying to do the best they can.
When it is time to clean the closet out or replace items around the home I hope you take a moment out of your bust lives to donate here. It is as simple as just dropping your items off on the way by or if you don't normally drive by stop at one of the local diners or reteraunts i have reviewed nearby and make a date out of it
That being said, it is a charity. The money goes to good causes other than a fancy building and extra staff. They do manage to do well keeping the place well organized.
Items change frequently and it's hit or miss shopping. Sometimes you leave with an armful other times you just can't find that one item you wanted.
Besides the fact that it's a charity buying used items is so much better for our planet than constantly buying and discarding new items

i called about donating a couch to this store and you get transferred three times before getting transferred to the webster store and they dont answer the phone and when they do they are automatically rude to you and interrupt you before you can even ask your question. i took a chance on the store after already reading the reviews and i made the mistake by still giving them the benefit of the doubt. none the less dont even bother going to this place there rude and they charge damn near full price on there product in the store

Sadly like goodwill, very few can afford the salvation army. It's definitely very unfortunate to go in this place and see stuff that I have donated for ridiculous amounts of money. Salvation army likes to use the "rent, labor, picking the stuff up, etc" as reasons for the ridiculous prices.
What they forget to tell you is that they get are 501c3 charity who gets state and federal tax exemptions. They also don't pay tax on there property.
The salvation army also writes off employee wages, marketing, electricity, repairs to there vehicles, milage for picking up items, employee benefits, and business losses.
Don't be fooled by there response of paying wages, time sorting, picking items up, recycling which means they sell huge truckloads full of clothes to foreign countries for money that they don't want.
Salvation is a charity that gets items donated for free. They choose to go pick the stuff up. They also seem to have forgotten what charities are for.
There are plenty of other charities out there that are much better to donate to than salvation army and goodwill

Good selection, just beware that the changing room lights automatically turn off at 6:44.

What the heck happened to this place?? I routinely shop here and within the last few months the pricing has become ABSURD. I have another Salvation Army near me in CT whose prices are absolutely no where near what Webster, MA is charging. You guys are selling a dresser, that was DONATED to you, for $299!! I can’t wait for the automated reply to this review from Salvation Army telling me they have a pricing system and blah blah. Maybe you do but this specific store is in no way following that. I’ll stick to the other Salvation Army’s who aren’t taking advantage of people.

Super overpriced. I've donated hundreds of items to the salvation army but if they are just going to rip people off, I'm going to start donating to another charity. I saw items priced higher, than brand new in store. Ridiculous.

I took my 88 year old grandmother to this location on august 22 2023 at 2:30. While shopping she asked an employee if she could tell her what color the tags were because she couldn't tell between the blue and green tags. (She is colorblind and has poor vision) The employee, without missing a beat looked her in the eye and said and I quote "Really? Come on now, it's obviously green" before rolling her eyes and walking away huffing, as though doing her job was somehow a hassle or inconvenience. If I had her name I would have left it here for you. Saying she was unprofessional would be a gross understatement at best.
