I love this dog park. I'm from Colorado and our dog parks are fenced in areas. I love that this park has a variety of features to walk through and that it's not just a big rectangle fenced in. You can take a short path or a long one through trees, by a brook, next to a pond or grassed areas. People are friendly and the dog gets to meet lots of new friends. Also a fun place to run or explore with kids.

I have no idea how I missed reviewing this great park, but it is a terrific park hiding in Wellesley next to Mass Bay CC, and since the Beloved Goldendoodle passed away last year I have been bringing a friend's dog here so I can still have my "dog time". Most of the people are friendly, there are nice dogs of all sizes to greet and there is a mix of flat and hilly areas depending on your dog's energy level (and yours). Tip: avoid the pond area, it is pretty swampy!

Full of nature is the way I would best describe Centennial Park. This park sits along Oakland Street in the middle of gorgeous Wellesley. It's full of beautiful nature and has the charm of a hidden away park. Unless you went on Yelp or were from Wellesley, it would be difficult to find this hidden away gem. Beautiful landscape. Perfect for walkers, joggers, hikers, etc. Many different paths accessible from many different locations. Main entrance at Oakland St and side entrance from Magnus Ave. Decent amount of shade throughout in different areas. The layout of the hills and the complete nature atmosphere is fabulous. Nothing "artificial" or manmade with the exception of a few benches, signs or bridges. Great place to bring dogs. Decent amount of parking. Entrance is tricky to find.... there is a small sign regarding it with a small paved entranceway right before the MassBay entrance.

So many fond memories! I can't believe I didn't write up Centennial Park on my first round of Yelp reviews of my hometown ten years ago, but better late than never. Centennial is a godsend to Wellesley dog owners. There are three different field areas that are good for chasing, and you can walk a loop that basically covers the park in about 40 minutes. If it's drizzling, you can walk a loop with enough tree cover that you won't get soaked. My dog always makes straight for the pond/stream, so be careful if you'd rather not deal with a wet dog. I'm not sure what the rules are for out of town dogs, but I've never seen anyone check tags. There's space for 6-7 cars in the lot off of Oakland Street, or you can park at the top of Maugus Hill. There are almost always playmates for my pup in the mornings and evenings in the summer. If you're a dog owner you likely know this already, but be careful of ticks -- it's a particularly bad year, and my dog recently came down with Lyme that we assume was picked up here. If you'd rather sit and read, there's a picnic table and a bench by the Oakland Street lot and one at the top of the hill.

Great spot to walk your dog. Lots of fun trails to explore. Parking can be tough at busy times. I took off a star for the dirty pond -- dog needed a full bath after his swim.

What such a wonderful park it is! There are happy dogs enjoying the plants and pond. It's near Newton and Boston. We must have cars to access this park.
