I have used Salem Five in purchasing homes for almost a decade. I had 3 transactions just in this past year. My last 2 home purchase there were many errors that were not rectified and no attempts made to correct the mistakes. I was surprised at how they treated a long standing customer.

My closing process was terrible. Things were missed bills weren’t paid. 6 months later they are still requesting documents that was already provided. I do not recommend at all and they sell your mortgage.

Terrible bank. Awful service, horrible website/apps inconsistent messaging from staff. Take your business elsewhere. They advertised competitive interest rates on savings for a while then dropped them shortly after establishing an account. Just stay away, not worth the headache.

I was < 20$ short on one mortgage payment after an escrow adjustment, with no prior late or incomplete payments, and they reported to credit agency's. Causing a 150 point drop in my credit score. They never even bothered to call me

This might be THE WORST branch of any bank I've ever been to. And we have a 500k+ mortgage with them, so figure how regular customers must be treated... My problem's here have persisted for months, mostly revolving around the older staff who seem stuck in their ways and uninterested or unable to learn basic, 21st century customer service skills. I went in one day after having my account frozen for NO REASON and instead of helping me, one of the older ladies just waved me off, telling me to call the customer service line that had me on hold for two hours. And today - another older teller tried to argue with me over taking my change. She said she didn't have time to count it, so I offered to count and roll the change while she helped other customers and she blatantly refused, telling me to instead go to Beverly. Is this really the attitude you want to be giving someone who has quite a lot of money going to Salem Five? Honestly, just go to TD in North Beverly - their service beats the crap out of this Salem Five, their hours are longer, they have higher withdrawal limits, they give you a new debit card same day. Don't even bother with Salem Five.

Salem 5 Hamilton is the best! Staff is always pleasant, personable, helpful and very professional (Thank you Diane, Penny and Dennis- you guys rock!). I highly recommend Salem 5!

It is the best branch of all Salem Five locations. They are very knowledgeable & supportive in every issue/challenge that I come with to them. If I could give them six stars I would without a doubt. I can't imagine banking someplace else.

Salem Five in S.Hamilton is a great branch to work with! Over the years we have received exceptional service from Dennis Barnett, Blair Villa and other personell at the branch. I recently contacted them regarding use of my ATM card in Italy and found out that there are no exchange fees, and that any other incurred ATM fees would be reimbursed to my Gold Star checking account. Much better deal than my Chase or Bank of America credit cards! Thank you again!
