My husband and I applied online 2 weeks ago for a MassSave Heat loan for a new oil boiler as Berkshire Bank was listed as a lender. I received 2 emails saying it’s processing and nothing further. Upon trying to reach out to the local branch we applied at, it says it’s temporarily closed. Problem is it’s been temporarily closed for over a week! I guess they don’t want the business from us common folks, probably not making enough profit to make it worthwhile.

Online it says the bank is open until 4pm on Fridays. I arrive at 3:30 , and the inside is completely lit up, yet all the doors are locked. All I’m looking to do is cash a check, and a teller comes out to tell me they are closed... so either the online hours are false or they do not want to do their job and they’re trying to get out early on a Friday. Either way I’m annoyed because I had driven 10 minutes out of my way to go to this bank. Not sure how a place can be closed yet you have employees inside? No wonder they have a 2 star rating. Hopefully you can find some professional employees. Not a happy customer, figure it out.

This bank is unbelievable. We are current customers and not for long. We had went through the whole mortgage loan process and received the home loan. We were shocked before the 1st payment was even due they had SOLD the loan to someone else and on top of it a second rate company from Texas. We are dumbfounded at this point and are writing reviews to every platform we can. This bank SUCKS!!!!! Beware. Your now former customer.

Horrible customer service - no empathy whatsoever. I called the branch before going in to find out if I could change my last name on my account with other documents because I do not have a photo ID with my husband last-name as yet!! The teller I spoke to check with branch manager and advised me “All I would need is my marriage license and social security cardâ€. Drove almost 45mins to be told by Nicole the assistant manager that it cannot be done - even after the agent advised her - she inquired prior to me coming there.

I've been a customer of commerce bank for over seven years now and unfortunately still a customer after the merge with Berkshire bank. The assistance provided, if any, is awful. The attitudes of almost every single representative is beyond unprofessional. Berkshire bank seems to only care about their own pockets and not the growth of their own customers. Being an active customer for over seven years I've applied for 3 personal loans to try and get ahead as I'm a single mother of two boys and needed help on getting ahead of my finances so I can actually afford to put my hard earned money aside and save. Each and every single loan I've applied for was denied and he only reason I found out was because I'd call and ask for the status. Also, not once have I been given a reason as to why my loans have been denied. They just deny the loan within 24 hours and give no reason. Yeah, really professional. Not to mention the ridiculous fees they charge for using an ATM. I'll be switching banks as soon as possible. Money is hard to come by these days and it seems this bank enjoys making money even more out of reach than to begin with. I'm speaking in specifics to the Worcester branches and West Boylston branch in massachusetts. I highly recommend staying far away from this bank.
