As a plus-size woman, I went looking for bridal boutiques that offered a range of sizes to curate the most inclusive and comfortable experience during a very exciting (but stressful!) time in my bridal era. I had my first appointment with Lisa, who was an absolute joy to work with! She was so supportive, so friendly, and offered gentle guidance throughout the appointment with me. I felt absolutely no pressure to buy on my first appointment and it truly felt like my best interests (of looking and feeling my best on my wedding day) were close at heart. Lisa also offered helpful tips on the timeline regarding purchasing a dress and getting alterations done.

I came back about a month later to try on two dresses that I really liked and had that appointment with Marianne. She was just the best! It was so much fun to try on dresses with her as a bridal fairy godmother. Marianne took the absolute best photos (both Lisa and Marianne were very informed on the best angles and spots to take dress photos) and really hyped me up. She posed great questions about how I felt in each dress and whether the dress was going to showcase ME or the DRESS itself. I ended up picking my dress at this second appointment, and felt really informed about the post-ordering timeline for getting my dress.

“I went into the shop looking for a mother of the groom dress, had no clue what I wanted. However I knew it had to be extra special. For a small shop I could not believe how many dresses she had. She was awesome, she was extremely helpful, knowledgeable. She does any alterations herself. I can’t say enough about her. Unlike the other shops that I went to the dresses had to be sent out & wouldn’t be back in time for my son’s August wedding.Definitely would recommend “The Special Event Bridal shop””
