Jabberwock Reptiles of Massachusetts, Managerial staff just told me that I cannot have Kendal, the store manager, contact the owner of the store, Stephen Ayer, to discuss the next proper procedure(s) for a return and/or exchange of an arachnid that I made the final purchase of on 01/02/2024, due to it having been over 14 days since my initial purchase. Kendal, the store manager, has stated that there are no refunds or returns for insect sales, however, spiders are a sort of hybrid insect, scientifically argued. The posted instructions are as follows, but one one statement of Jabberwock is as stated, "If you are unhappy with them, (said insects), then let us know. Kendal stated that if it were an override issue, that she would have been able to do so, however, business practices state that if the annoynted store manager, cannot make any further decisions, then by the customers right and law, the owner of said store is to contact the store owner, to discuss and figure out the next steps in such an issue of differences relating to the proper business practice(s). The store manager stated that I, the customer, Paul K., had said that I informed her that I knew and understood the proper care for the arachnid, and I will testify that I had no recollection of, whatsoever, how to care for the spider, and the store manager, upon final purchase, did not offer me a care sheet, which the store clerks, animal caretakers, nor the store manager-Kendal, offered me a care sheet printout, nor any written instructions for proper care and handling of the arachnid. I had asked about proper treatment for the spider, and Kendal, the store manager, had told me that the spider only eats crickets at it size in its past, current stage in life, and that the spider would probably molt once or twice from the date of final purchase, before it would need to be feed, one medium cricket a week. The spider, admittedly as of this past week, had stopped moving around, I, not being a professional in the field, had thought that the molting was taking place, sadly, it was not. $150.00 + food and care supplies, for the spider and feeder crickets, and 46 days later, just to be left with a deceased spider and useless supplies. Kendal, the store manager, as mentioned herein, had mentioned, if it were an override issue, that she could have helped. As a previous assistant manager and shift manager, I know, as having been certified in business management and applied service management, that if there are no other hire managers above Kendal, available, that the very next step would be to contact the store owner, Kendal refused to do so, several times, when I calmly requested for her to do so. She was very argumentative, and refused to take the necessary action, as a friendly, family/friend owned establishment. I remained calm, and now silent, as I type out this short description of just how poor the service is for people with disabilities and a history of violence. Is this not discriminatory? P.J.K.3

I NEVER write reviews but I had to for this place!! ... for years I travel around to different exotic petstore just to stop in check out what they got, what care they give there reptiles etc. I have been to some well known places in the reptile keeper world. This place even though may not have as large of a selection as other places does an amazing job keeping there reptiles the way they should be ! You walk in and notice right away. They have one reptile per enclosure( in great size enclosures too), linear UVB, fresh greens, food! Hence why there isn't a huge selection at a time! This place usually has bearded dragons, snakes, geckos, spiders, a mainly in stock with some other lizards like uros, ackies, tortoises etc. I have always wanted a reptile my whole life and finally got the chance to get one! N bought a house a few months ago so that meant it was time I could get my scaly friend! Last Sunday I bought a bearded dragon from here. He's just a baby! So far this week he is eating fine, pooping like clockwork ( everyday Bout 1.5 hours after lights on. Totally healthy!! The lady that helped me was also amazing you will never go in here seeing staff just chit chatting! They are always doing something, checking in with customers, providing care for there animals! This is the place to go and support!!! We deffinetly need more places like it! No other place beats them in the area!!

Small one location shop with INCREDIBLY helpful staff. I went to make my ball pythons enclosure bioactive, and they helped me find everything I needed. Very reasonable prices, and very high quality feeders. I'll be going here from now on to get my feeder mice

Im honestly BEYOND disappointed in this store. I come here often to get food for my pets. But recently they have been low on a bunch of items! Almost all the time I walk out empty handed. It is very disappointing that they have become subpar. Just do better.

Jabberwock is the best place in town for any reptile needs. If your snake is hungry, you can bet they will have rats to feed it. Very nice workers, many reptiles that are well taken care of. I personally bought a reptile from them and they were just professional about the whole experience. Congratulations Jabberwock. Very good store.

I highly recommend Jabberwock over most all of its competitors. The prices for everything ranging from old world tarantulas to bearded dragons are awesome and some of the best I've seen. Most arachnids / inverts sold here come from Wicked Webz store, based out of New Hampshire. Feeders include ; Dubia Wax worms Hornworms Super worms / mealworms Fruit fly cultures Live rodents (and frozen I believe) It is really a one stop shop for all feeders. They also sometimes carry white springtails ! Employees are always happy to help and more than helpful! You could easily spend much more time than you meant to here ! 90% of my inverts are from this store or WW. Highly recommend!

My little Nacho is settling in nicely. Thank you for having great animals and friendly staff at the shop! Can’t recommend this place enough.I loved that the women who work here were patient and let me handle a few snakes before I settled on this crested gecko. Before leaving, they went over basic care and told me about the breeder, which I really appreciated.I will be back when they have more gargoyle geckos in stock! Thanks again.

Jabberwock was an incredible home away from home for my redfoot tortoise. I moved out of state, but I recommend Jabberwock for anyone looking for boarding for their reptile. All the staff is amazing. They are helpful, knowledgable, and super nice. The pricing is very reasonable and the care my tortoise got was great.

We live in a small town that only has a Petsmart, so before we traveled to Boston for a wedding, I did some research and found out about this place! Has an excellent reputation and I called ahead to ask questions about keeping reptiles safe and alive during long drives (roughly 5 hours from the store to home). I originally had my heart set on a Mexican black kingsnake and gargoyle gecko, but they were sold out of the geckos and I didn't click with the snakes I handled... Sooooo I left with this ADORABLE crested gecko. I researched gargoyles for a really long time and their husbandry is practically the same, so I'm happy with this little guy or gal (affectionally named Nacho).I liked that the women who helped me were super patient with my questions about other snake species, their husbandry, feeding routines, and handling. When I switched gears and set my eyes on the little cresties, they made sure I understood how to care for them and told me about their parents and the breeder. Overall, I love this store and can't wait to return for another crestie or gargoyle gecko! Also -- animals are priced fairly and well looked after. The merchandise (enclosures, decor, food) are all priced well too. You know how some business mark things up and sell them for double what you see online? That's not the case here. I really can't recommend it enough! It's worth the drive for folks from out of town.

I had bought in my 12-year-old grandson a very large snake did not realize how aggressive the snake was and I don't think that it was right that the gentleman sold it to me also the snake had mites so it was a little upset about that but returning the snake was wonderful the girls took it back no problem one of them gave the snake a bath right away so I was very pleased with that

I was looking for an adult rose hair tarantula for months and I found this store. They had some in stock and she came in the mail overnight and arrived in excellent condition! If you are looking to buy tarantulas or reptiles, I would recommend going here! Both the store owner and shipper are nice guys!
