Bob at Central Auto is a throw back! I true gentleman who looks to help you and get you back on the road.I have had two instances where I brought my vehicle in (2010 Honda Ridgeline) for a quick fix and both times were a surprise! The first, he told me that he just needed to adjust something by my tie-rod, which was no charge. The second time, he did my front brakes which cost far under what I was quoted at two other places.I have brought my kids cars in for oil changes and the service and timing has been perfect each and every time!Definitely a 5-star!One more thing: please be sure to call before you drop your car so that Bob is able to get to it that same day! There is a key drop, if needed, as well!

I purchased an awesome Jeep from Bob last month and was enjoying it immensely when the dreaded check engine light came on. It lit up on the 28th day I owned it just before Bob's 30 day guarantee expired so I called him and he said to bring it in. Diadnostics revealed I needed a catalyctic convereter which if you didn't know is NOT a cheap repair. Bob honored his offer and replaced it saving me about a $1500. If you're looking for a good guy who honors his commitments and stands by his cars, Bob's your man. Thanks Bob!

Bob @ Central Automotive has been our "family mechanic" for 15+ years. Found him through a referral by a colleague who had been a happy customer. We have been very happy since as well and have referred him to multiple friends... who in turn have all been satisfied customers. Bob is just as honest and straightforward with his assessments as he is skilled in doing challenging diagnosis and repairs. Most folks reading this probably know how hard it is to find that combination! We have come to fully trust Bob when it comes to looking after our vehicles... old and new. Thanks Bob!

So so great here! I needed new brakes and Bob did such a great job at a really affordable and honest price. He also replaced two of my tires, and the whole thing was inexpensive and very efficient. Will go here for any maintenance I need.Services: Tires

Very disappointed with this person, he does not stand behind his wordI will wait for this person to pay for his wrong doing. He lied, he said he fixed a big part of a jeep he sold to me, gave me the receipt saying he did fix it. But when I did the oil change and the inspection, come to find out had so Manny issues even an accident that was not in the report. I called him and explain"he said who knows how many people have mess around with this jeep" he said why did you go buy tires' . He told me that he was not responsable for any of that. Mind you I have purchased this car in July/20 brought it back 4 time from RI to Mass 50 mins ride. It has been only 2 months and I have invested more than 2,000 on top of what I paid for it. I will take measures on this matter. It may take me awhile but I will find my sources to stop this guy. If you buy a car from this guy please be careful, do your research get an inspection. His lic. needs to be revoke.

I've been taking my truck to Central Automotive for about 6 years. I'm always impressed with the professionalism. I have an older Chevy pickup that's required regular maintenance. Over the years they've repaired/replaced my radiator, exhaust, brakes, fuse box and an electrical harness among other things. One time a replacement part failed. He got the part again for me and stood by his work. The best.

Just purchased a used car on 5/6/19 from Bob Celati dealer/owner/mechanic of Central Automotive.Under the terms of Bob's Purchase Agreement the vehicle is covered by "30 day Express Warranty" provided by dealer and "Implied Warranty of Merchantability and fitness" provided by the state to protect buyers of used vehicles from defects that impair the safety and use of a vehicle.During the warranty period I was having a problem with my power steering a problem that would be considered a defect that impairs the safety of a vehicle. Under The Massachusetts used car Warranty Law that was displayed in the vehicle at the time of purchase the dealer is required by law to fix the problem or issue a refund. Bob acknowledged that there was a problem with the steering. He tried to diagnos and fix the problem but was unable to.So he offered a refund/ buy-back I accepted. Bob said he would only honor the buy-back under one condition that I agreed to sign a "Confidentiality Agreement" I have since tried to contact Bob in an attempt to resolve problem. He refuses to respond. I've tried by phone and mail. Now my only recourse is to contact the Attorney Generals Office Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation under The used car Warranty Law a consumer can request a state certified arbitrator to decide the case.

In general, I would say this is a decent reputable shop. They don't try and rip you off, like so many do, but I was a little disappointed this last time around. We had an issue with the AT shifter on our car. My wife brought it in and told the mechanic that we were told there was a problem with the shift cable. The mechanic wasn't able to pinpoint the problem, and decided to play roulette and tried replacing the neutral safety switch, at a cost of $350. Well, that didn't resolve the issue as it was still difficult to shift, and wasn't properly registering it was in Park. Brought the car back, and this time he properly diagnosed it was corrosion in the cable linkage. Another $450 later. I don't mind paying for fixing what was wrong, but I think it fair that the customer not pay for the mechanic's mis-diagnosis, especially when they were told what to look for, at least the labor on that. I just think that's wrong, and it's soured me on this place. That's not the way I treat my customers Update, in response to company: The review IS correct. You don't like the truth, then perhaps you shouldn't operate that way. You were told what to look for, it was obvious when you finally looked the second time. Instead you guessed and guessed wrong at my expense. $800 to repair a shift cable linkage? "The call was the customers?" lol. YOU'RE the mechanic! YOU'RE supposed to know what to do! My wife told you what we were told was the problem, YOU said no, let's try the switch. Holy crap, I have to explain this to you? Yes, sometimes it costs extra when you don't listen, and try and take advantage of my wife's lack of understanding. Lying now to cover it doesn't help, and by other reviews here I can see we're not the only one. Charging customers for your bad diagnosis is bad business

I bought a used car from them. Bob was easy to deal with when negotiating and we quickly reached agreement on what would be a fair price for both of us. The car had a couple of minor issues that I noticed soon after purchasing it. He took care of the squeaking front windows while I waited (had to remove the door panels because spraying the channels with silicone didn't work). Bob couldn't pinpoint the cause of a noise from the suspension, which didn't exist when I purchased the car the previous week. My mechanic also didn't see anything wrong with the suspension when performing a pre-purchase inspection. Bob said to come back once the sound worsens, even if it's beyond the warranty period. I was very pleased with the experience. I very rarely write reviews, but want to commend them.
