The customer service at the location 911 Main Street Woburn MA was horrible I got treated like an animal and the manager and team members don’t know what they are doing. Their attitudes are bad and it seems like they hate their job but just working just cause! I hope down the line no customers get treated the way I did there and I will never rent from them again

I’ve rented from this Hertz location (Main street, Woburn, MA) twice, and both times followed the same pattern: reservations made well in advance, yet vehicles were not ready upon arrival. Staff scrambled to locate a car, resulting in long waits while rushed, surface-level cleanings were done. Both vehicles I received were still dirty inside—dust, debris, and some trash left behind. On my second visit, I was given an electric car with little electric charge, which created serious delays for a same-day trip.
The staff are courteous and offer the convenience of home pickup—but time management and vehicle preparation need significant improvement. Staging reserved vehicles in advance, completing interior detailing, ensuring EVs are charged, and proactively calling if plans change, rather than waiting until customers walk in would greatly improve the customer experience.

Absolutely atrocious. Booked to pick a car up at 12pm, arrived on time and the office was closed and so I NEVER GOT THE CAR I PAID FOR. No one called to let me know they were closed, no emails, no anything. They sure would allow me to lose money and time but didn't have the courtesy to let me know the office would be closed even though THEY SAID TO PICK IT UP AT THAT TIME. Absolute trash.

Had a great experience at this Hertz dealer. Rented a car in Ohio. Got a flat tire on 95 n of Boston the day before in the evening. AAA came and put the spare on so I got out of there fast. It was an all-wheel-drive Ford Explorer and turns out you need to replace all four tires because it’s all-wheel-drive which actually checks out. So I contacted where I rented it in Ohio, and they told me to work with my local Hertz dealer in the morning since everybody was closed so I chose Woburn location. I turned up in the morning. Waited a few minutes for them to take care of two other customers and then Jordan said how can I help you? I explained my situation with the help of a speakerphone call to the originating Hertz in Ohio and he said he could help me. And they did a great job. Got me in a new SUV even though I had no reservation. He was really nice to work with. Grateful that this was the closest location and if I ever have to rent a car near Boston, this is where I’ll get it. Thanks again, Jordan.

GREAT customer service and FAST & EASY car rental! We were in town for business & pleasure but weren’t happy Ubering to where we needed to go. We decided to rent a vehicle for a few days but every car rental agency I called either didn’t have any vehicles or their prices were high. I was so glad when I called Hertz at 911 Main Street in Woburn. Agent Shakira was extremely accommodating including picking me up from my nearby hotel so that I didn’t have to Uber. Shakira was a delight to interact with and made my rental experience seamless. On top of that, the rental price was the best in town! 🙌🏼 I would 100% recommend using this Woburn Hertz for any vehicle rental needs! You made our time around the Boston area better! 😊

My experience with Hertz was terrible from start to finish. When I arrived to pick up my rental, I had to wait an extremely long time because the associate, Shakira Welcome, was on a personal phone call and didn’t even acknowledge the waiting customers. Once I was finally helped, I asked about the Capital One Venture complimentary upgrade. Even though the website clearly said it applied, Shakira told me it wouldn’t without offering any real explanation or even trying to check.
To make things worse, I was offered a vehicle upgrade for $30 — but they never explained it was $30 per day. They just charged my card without even waiting for my confirmation. Extremely misleading and unprofessional.
Then things got dangerous. When we were traveling back home from Philadelphia, a mouse appeared inside the car. It ran onto my leg while I was driving on the highway, causing me to swerve and almost lose control. I even got beeped at by another car. It was terrifying and completely unsafe — there is absolutely no excuse for a rental car to have rodents inside it.
That night, I tried to exchange the vehicle immediately, but all Hertz locations were closed. I called Hertz Roadside Assistance and spoke to JJ, who gave me an incident number (26270068) to document what happened.
The next morning, I went to three different Hertz locations trying to exchange the car. The first two locations had no cars available, and by the time I got to the third, they told me they couldn’t extend the rental because it was after 12:00 PM, their cutoff time. The only reason I was there past 12:00 PM was because I was trying different Hertz locations. I had to speak with a Hertz representative inside that location just to get the rental extended. Then I was told if I wanted to exchange the car, I would have to go all the way back to the original Hertz location in Massachusetts — even though I was in Philadelphia at the time. That made absolutely no sense and showed how disorganized and unhelpful their system is.
After everything — the poor communication, misleading charges, the dangerous and unsanitary condition of the car, and the total lack of support — I can confidently say I will never rent from Hertz again.

The manager Jordan was very helpful. Booked a Tesla at the Peabody location and didn’t have the car I wanted so went here and Jordan was able to accommodate me with a Tesla and matched the same rate I had. He even voided the extra fees so that I could drop the car off in Peabody which was close to my house. Excellent customer service! Thank you!

I had a reservation to pick up a rental car today but I am sick and went in the app to push out the pick up until tomorrow. (This is for a car accident) when I opened the app I found out the car was rented to someone using my information and charging my credit card. No one at Hertz gives a “crap” police do not care. Said its is “fraud” not really a crime but a civil matter. Location will NOT pick up the phone. I’m afraid to go there alone as these are people who have charged my card to either use the car themselves or for a friend. Who knows but clearly criminals and if the police will not go with me, it’s not safe to go.
UPDATE: FYI: that link is BS does nothing. I finally had someone pick up at the location and yeah admit, on a recording they charged my card without permission and then hung up. Called back and they picked up and hung up. Then my attorney called and they picked up and hung up. Card has been cancelled. Bank is aware so you will not get a dime. We will be filing fraud charges in about 30 min. Stay away from this place!!

We reserved an SUV for my wife because her car got hit in an accident. I spoke to Marco who was pleasant and told him I would be there ASAP because they close at 5PM. I had to leave my office in Billerica and pick up my wife in Lexington as fast as I could. I called again as I was on my way to picking up my wife and told one of the representatives at Hertz that I encountered traffic and would be there ASAP. As soon as I picked up my wife I called again as a courtesy and told them, because of traffic I may be delayed several minutes. I arrived at 5:08 PM. When we got there a gentleman was at the door stating he was ready to leave. Also next to us we’re another couple who also we’re trying to get their rental, and like us had encountered traffic.
I cannot understand how when I called Hertz three separate times before I got there and told them I was trying to get there as soon as I could they refused to rent a car to us because he wanted to go home. I will never do any business with Hertz ever again I own an architectural firm, and I have another business in Tennessee and do a lot of traveling. I will never ever use Hertz again after this incident .
