I have put in a claim for my father's life insurance policies which he paid diligently for more than 60 years in one case. After a month, there is still no response from SBLI. I have also written two emails to customer service about this claim and neither email received a response. I am disappointed with the standard of communication from a company my father trusted.

Zero stars for this company. They have declined a claim for his my father's life insurance, this place is a scam.
I have no idea how my father chose this company but we are left with no choice but to take legal action against this fraudulent company.

I have NEVER done business with this company. In fact I was in the Insurance business for several years after leaving 30 years in the Service and never came across this company. However for some unknown reason I’m getting daily spam from this company. IP address goes back to San Francisco. I’ve blocked them but who ever is sending this BS is changing their IP

My experience with SBLi has been excellent. I have a 10 yr policy and am trying to sign for another 10 yrs. If I am eligible, I will 100% sign again. My payments come out quarterly but I can pay several diff ways. I highly recommend. My friend sells insurance and he is the one who recommended SBLI. They are a top rated company.

Stay away. My late father bought a life insurance policy on me from Boston Five Cents Savings Bank in 1944. The policy was taken over by Massachusetts Savings Bank Life Insurance. I received a Notice Of Payment Due on the policy (no amount was due) in 1980 from SBLI. No communication since. I am at the same address as in 1980. Now the company says that they cannot find the policy and that I am out of luck. The policy is small. It will mean little to my heirs. But it's the principle that matters. My father was in the military. serving overseas, at the time he bought the policy. He certainly had little cash to spare. I can't bear the thought of him being taken advantage of. If SBLI sounds like the kind of company you'd like your spouse or heirs to deal with some day, then I feel sorry for them.

Absolutely discussed with this company. When I signed up with this company 5 years ago, I made a whole life insurance policy and they lied to me and changed it to a term insurance. What a bunch of liars to benefit themselves and will be cancelling. Tons of money 💰 wasted. Do not go with this company for help. I’m confident that if something happened to me, my family wouldn’t be taken care of.

My husband had purchased a Life Insurance policy from SBLI for my son back in the early 80’s. My husband passed away in December of 2023. I was trying to get the policy transferred to my name since I was the beneficiary, from February of 2024. I was given a really hard time for something that should’ve been simple. After I posted a review on Trust Pilot I was contacted on 1/8/25 by Camille the customer service supervisor, who assured me the policy would be updated and I would receive confirmation of the transfer in the mail. I did receive the confirmation in the mail yesterday 1/15/25. This review is an update on the review I had posted on Trust Pilot. Camille Inumerables the customer service supervisor personally took care to make sure the problem was resolved and I want to thank her for the great customer service.

This company is a scam!!! Don't do it. My father paid these people for years. He passed back in October and they have just bounced us around and can't find anything on my father even with a policy#. SCAMMERS!! SBLI and American amicable!! They each bounce you back and forth between each other. If I could give 0 stars I would.

A few days ago I cancelled the payment for this insurance at my bank because I have been paying the insurance for two years, every time I call and ask for a copy of my coverage they say they will send it by email and they don't, their service The customer is horrible, the agent from whom I bought the policy does not answer and I called again this Monday and the young woman who answered me asked me so much private information that I had to corroborate and in the end that I would send a copy of my policy today is Wednesday and still nothing in my email... everyone be careful with this company.

My husband did all the paperwork for a policy and someone came to the house for the blood draw and medical portion. It’s been weeks with no contact. No returned phone calls, just silence. Guess they have enough business. After reading the reviews I’m glad it happened. We will give our business to a more professional company.

I completed the form for automatic payment at least 4 times and it never happens. I am very busy so that would be convenient for me. When I go to check on my policy once again because I see no withdrawal its lapsed due to payment. I am not sure why its so hard to do this task. Ive had this policy for over a decade

I need to find the way you can write it and add pictures my family has been doing business since tonight 1980s with this company do not do business with them my mom's policy was paid when she passed easy but they paid 34k at the time I questioned it I was told I could pay $100 to research it I have another email for another policy last month they did a few years later randomly sent a check it then sat in junk mail and by the time I realized it was there when I was moving a year later I had to have it reissued it was a pretty easy process to do that but the whole point is they should have called me my sister cashed out her policy years ago and the owners owners process wasn't explained although one would say when someone's dead they can't on a policy especially when you've already received two certified death certificates for that person every aspect of communicating with these people is horrible they're very polite and very nice on the phone but the follow through sucks my best friend runs a lab in a major hospital and for 4 days could not get a fax to go through they acted like she was a moron she literally averages 300 faxes a day the machine was not even responding busy cuz it wasn't plugged in something was supposedly mailed on Tuesday it's still not here on Saturday when things are better for me and I reassure this will not be the company I use

Track when your payment is due and make sure they take payment from you. I had a policy for years. They would send the bill and I would pay it. This year, I didn't get the bill to remind me to pay. Then I got a notice that my policy had lapsed. No reminders, no notices that it was about to lapse, no grace period. They did that intentionally so they could get out of my policy which was at a low rate. Told me I needed to complete the lapse paperwork to get it reinstated so they can reevaluate my rate. They don't deserve your business.
Update: I was contacted by management and they did reinstate my policy, which I appreciate. Their response was timely and resolution was quickly done, which changed my opinion of the company. After reviewing it looks like my policy was switched to paperless billing and being sent to the wrong email address, which would explain why I didn't get a bill in the mail. I advised SBLI that I didn't authorize these changes, which I believe they are taking process improvement feedback.

Cold call SCAMMERS! I’m on Do Not Call list and I’m constantly telling them to take me off their list but I’ll get another call today and more tomorrow.. no doubt! They’re always asking about your personal finances and acct numbers long before they give any information regarding the policy you haven’t decided on yet. TOTAL SCAM AND THEY SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE! I know I am!
