My stay at Sands of Time was absolutely wonderful. Bill and Becky went above and beyond to make sure I felt safe and comfortable during my stay. My room was very clean, cozy, and had a breathtaking view. There was delicious coffee in the office every morning with great restaurants only a 5 minute walk away. I highly recommend staying here!

Sands of Time is a great spot that has a pretty view and is very accommodating. We stayed in the motel location, not in the Victorian house, and didn't visit up there. We stayed for 3 nights early August and were content. It is clean and the beds are comfortable. Don't be surprised to see the proprietors assisting housekeeping; they're hands-on in taking care of things. The pool, altho not Olympic-size, is GREAT and fits in well between the 2 lodging spots; there's noodles, toys, etc. to splash around with, as well as pool towels. No need to reserve the tables/loungers at the pool at 6am, there's enough for everyone, and usually most folks are at 1 of the great beaches nearby. The location is perfect for in town or going to the beaches. The following list is an FYI for folks coming for the 1st time, not to disparage this place of lodging in any way:- The motel part is nearer to the main road. If the noise of trucks and motorcycles will bother you, you may want to book your stay in the house, located up higher. Not a problem for us.- Parking: It's a challenge, and with the new condos next door, it'll be more of a challenge. Be careful of how you park, and know it's a shared driveway.- The bathroom was small but adequate - plenty of great hot water during peak hours!- The key is the old fashioned key fob and the door is latched; not the magnetic key card - this was not a problem for us.- There's no bathroom exhaust fan but there was a new DampRid moisture absorber hung nearby to assist with this aspect.- The deep pile carpeting is new and cleaned well, so don't be turned off by that or the mid century color schemes or furniture.- There's a 20" TV inside the entertainment unit also used for clothing, etc. There's a table and chairs too for having breakfast or lunch in the room. There were also 2 1960's vintage wire-style chairs outside the patio door for the great view of the harbor.- There's no breakfast included but we went to Stop&Shop and got our breakfast and snacks and were fine in time for supper; we brought our own single KCup maker too, and were good for the day. The small fridge kept water, etc. well refrigerated.- The towels are older; not snow-white bright and fluffy but adequate and clean.- The front desk area is outdated and there was a friendly older dog there once in a while. There is free tea and coffee available here, so don't allow the non update-to-date decor be a turn off.We got the chance to relax here, in a clean and pleasant environment before we returned home, and that was the best part. This is a definite family oriented spot, but we DID enjoy it as a couple.

Sands of time beautiful property and location to Woods hole 5 min walk. The view of harbor is beautiful. The bed a king was very comfortable and rooms are clean. We had a refrigerator as well received tickets to ride the ferry to Martha's Vineyard a bottle of Champagne and gift card to Pie in the sky restaurant which had great breakfast and lunch opinion. Becky the owner was extremely kind and informative as to where bike trail the shining sea and beach is. Her dog Josie was adorable and well behaved as she sat in office greeting guest. The staff was very friendly as well. We will be back . We did test the heated pool waters pristine. Becky mentioned renovations to come for hotel to update bathrooms etc. I must express that everything was clean and welcoming. It's a hidden jem just far enough from center that at night you relax looking out at harbor. Thank you Becky. Sincerely Sharon and Rich

Sands of Time Inn & Harbour house is a beautiful property with rooms overlooking the blue waters of the harbor and Vineyard Sound. They have a large pool and chairs for sunbathing in the center of the hotel surrounded by their stunning gardens. The property is in a perfect location of Woods Hole and a short walk away to the town center and the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard.

We were unable to find parking near Woods Hole and someone suggested we check in here. They charged us $50 cash to park for the day. It had to be cash, so I doubt the owners are seeing any of that money.

What a wonderful place. It was a refreshing change from the chain lodgings we were accustomed to. I would recommend Sands of Time to anyone.

To start, this is only my 2nd year (in a row) that I have been lucky enough to be a guest at Sands of Time Inn for just under a week both visits. My sister has been a guest prior, and she is who I traveled with the last 2 years and we reserve adjoining rooms. I cannot express how much I love this place from the location, the cleanliness, the vintage quaintness of the rooms as well as the location and short, lovely walk down into the town of Woods Hole; but the management and staff truly round out the amazing experience of a stay there. I am hoping to return yearly to Sands of Time and to see Becky and the staff!

We were so pleased with our accommodations. Our room had a beautiful view of the harbor. We loved sitting on the balcony watching the boats and ferry. It was so close to town with restaurants and shopping. I highly recommend this perfect family owned place. We definitely will be back.

We truly enjoyed our 2 night stay at sands of time. The location is perfect, close to the beaches, restaurants, MV ferry and shopping. The innkeepers are a delight, very knowledgeable and accommodating. They go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as can be. They have complimentary coffee and tea anytime of the day. There is a heated pool and chaise lounges. Although some of the decor could use updating, we stayed in a room with a brand new mattress and slept very soundly. We highly recommend checking it out.

Good location, clean rooms and environment, nice small pool outside. As for 2 stars hotel, it is really fine. Our stay was short, so I'm happy with it. For a longer stay, maybe I'd choose a newer hotel. But it is very clean and has a nice view of harbor.

The hotels location is spectacular, overlooking Woods Hole harbor, the Coast Guars Station and our across the water. Watching the changes in the body of water and sky was mesmerizing. My room had a lovely bay window which increased the view. The room is beautifully appointed with relaxing chairs—the nook the bay window is in, a fireplace, large generous bathroom with the choice of either a tub or shower. This suite—I think it was #334– had a small kitchen. It is a short walk down Woods Hole Road to the ferry and shops and restaurants.Every morning we stopped at Pie In The Sky for delicious croissants, bagels, breakfast sandwiches as well as very large and good chocolate chip walnut cookies. I swear one cookie weighed about a pound.I recommend, too, Landfall Restaurant, (make a reservation for Friday nights)I’d stay at this delightful hotel again.

Great views. We enjoyed our stay but I wish the rooms had a fridge. I also didn’t like how the ice box was in the other building (the inn) which was a bit of a walk away from my room in the harbor house. I would have liked a coffe maker or something in the room but they did offer it in the office which was in the inn building. I had nice views of the water and could see the ferry. The windows blinds were pull which was often getting stuck or wouldnt pull down or up. The shower was in a bathtub which had tapes on it and looked old like it needed repair. The shower head itself was lower and the pressure was very strong, making the water feel like like it was hitting you which could be a bit painful gor longer periods of time. Besides that, the room was very spacious and clean. We enjoyed having the seating by the window. The room had pleanty of sunlight and overall we enjoyed our stay. I would consider returning if a cheaper hotel were available or if a hotel nearby (whom provided a fridge and other amenities) were available. Everyone I spoke to was very kind and polite and answered all of my questions on the phone before hand. It was in a pretty good location but there is construction going on during the week so thats also something to keep in mind.
