I owned my business right down the street from the bank more than 20 years , I decided to come to open another saving account with Hometown Bank .What a big mistake I made !It took 10 minutes to opened the checking account , but when I gave her 3 large checks to DEPOSIT to my saving account , she's gone for 15 minutes to talk to higher up in the bank ...These are 3 Cashier Checks from another Bank out of state .She asked me why I had big checks like that ?My father passed away a year ago , and that was my inherited money .Did I mention I just want to DEPOSIT only ?She told me that I can't DEPOSIT those checks , unless I come back with my father's Certificate of Death and some paper from the bank stating how I got the checks .I was fuming when I left Hometown Bank that day .I called the other Bank to ask for the letter , he laughed at me .Four days later , I came to Hometown Bank to show my father's Certifcate of Death and the letter from Bank ...She asked for permission to make the copy of them , and I refused it . I told her there is no need for that .I only want to show her the paper to prove my checks are real , those are belongs to me .I also closed down my checking account that I opened 4 days ago .They don't trust me .How can I trust them to holding my money ???I feel like I got discriminated against me , little old lady Asian ...I made the wrong choice to come to Hometown Bank .I wasted my time to come here .What a shame for the name HOMETOWN BANK !It's NOT my hometown .It's NOT my Bank .I don't recommend this Bank to anyone , specially if you are minority .This is Hometown Bank at 1001 Millbury Street , Worcester MA 01607And the person helped me at the time was Assistant Branch Manager Antoinette Peterson .I owned Daynite Super Store on Greenwood Street , like 1/2 mile down the street from the bank .I was wanted to open a saving account with Hometown Bank because it's close to my work but things didn't go well as I planned .I'm doing business with Millbury Federal Credit Union and Central Credit Union for 30 years , they're happy to keep my money and I happy with their services .

Takes more than three weeks to get a new card while I can go to dcu and get a card the same day. Too complicated
