Walked in to three young adults leaning behind the counter that just stared at me as I walked in. I had to approach them and start a conversation. Explained to them that I wanted to paint a small area between wallpaper and try to match the wallpaper pattern. I was going to show them a picture of what I was working with and they told me they can’t help with just a picture. They offered me to take swatches home to try and match the couple colors I wanted to get. I told them I already had in mind that I needed a matte white base shade and then a taupe shade (which I already had one in mind from their app) but they still didn’t want to help. Then an older gentlemen walked out from the office (I assume he was a manager) and he acted like he was going to try and help me, but then when I said I had drove 30 minutes to get there and I wasn’t gonna go back home with the swatches and come back and that I wanted to leave with a couple colors that I had in mind, him and one of the younger male workers just walked back into the office. So then I walked over and was looking at the quart size cans of paint with a sample card of white shades they gave me to look at while the two younger female workers just ignored me. I was ready to leave and go somewhere else then one finally asked “are you going to get a white color”? I told them just to give me the white shade and taupe shade that I had found on the app. I gave them the paint numbers and they mixed the paint and I left. I did not spend another dime on any other supplies that I needed (went to Lowe’s to get the other supplies that I needed) The only reason I didn’t get the paint at Lowe’s is because of the taupe shade that I had found on the app that I liked. Worst customer service experience I have had at a retail store. There was no other customer in the store and it was like I was bothering them and they offered no advice. I went to a “paint store” instead of Lowe’s or an ACE Hardware thinking I would get a little more expert advice on my project, but that was not the case. I could hardly get them to help me with the product I had in mind.

I'm a professional painter, and I only get my paint from Sherwin-Williams. High quality paint last longer, looks better and is easier to use, in my opinion

I personally do not recommend the Adrian branch of SW. Arrived Thursday for a single gallon of interior oil based which was not in stock but assured it would be picked up and delivered Friday. Friday came, no paint but assured it would be picked up possibly Saturday and if not Monday. Fair enough, I completely understand things happen. Monday came, no paint but assured it would be in Tuesday as the rep had it on his vehicle but did not make it to the Adrian branch. Contacted Tuesday, no paint the "rep was super busy in Monroe" it will be in tomorrow morning (wednesday). Wednesday I arrived at the Adrian branch to pick up the single gallon and after a brief interaction between an associate and the manager come to find out the rep was not scheduled to be in Adrian at all today.Being in the service industry myself, I would be out of the job with that type of miscommunication and lack of general ability to get something done. With that being said, I have a half finished interior home and work to be done. Contacted Ann Arbor branch of SW and have the gallon on hold for pick up same day.

Both value & service. A little more expensive but worth avoiding all the distractions of the "big box" store (i.e., buying items that "are not on the list" ; ) PLUS - I can order TINTED paint & PAY for it via phone. The accommodations are worth the extra couple bucks! And if I could remember the name of the sales associate I would publicly give her credit - hopefully my review will get back to her. I know how important the "on-line" review is to an organization and its employees.Thank YouK~
