Bay View Park is a very clean and well-maintained park, described as beautiful and picturesque. It is a favorite for its beautiful view of Lake Huron, pier, and relaxing walks along the water where visitors can watch wildlife, fishermen, and sailboats. The park features a big playground, tennis and basketball courts, an outdoor amphitheater or bandshell, and a picnic area. It is a nice park for events and is dog-friendly, requiring leashes. The marina and easy access to downtown are noted. Some visitors mention excellent gourmet hotdogs and food available. A drawback is the lack of indoor restrooms, with only porta johns and no hand washing station.
