REVIEW UPDATE (11/20/25):
I left a review for MDP about a month ago because I was a bit shocked by how we were treated. Since then, the owner, Mike, has personally and kindly reached out to us. He took the time to thoroughly investigate the situation, call us directly, and issue a refund without hesitation. This was greatly appreciated.
I now believe we likely experienced a one-off situation, and that our experience should not reflect the quality or integrity of the MDP shop as a whole. Thank you, Mike, for taking the time to look into this further and for reaching out with such professionalism and kindness—it truly went a long way.
(Original Review) Brought my 2020 VW Tiguan in for a simple oil change and inspection. No issues beforehand. When I picked it up, they claimed my brake pads were down to 1.0mm and that my rotors and calipers all needed replacing—for $2,000. They even warned me it wasn’t safe to drive home (7 minutes away) and said, while I held my young daughter, “I’d hate for something to happen to your family.”
No photos or proof were provided. Shocked, we left and had the brakes checked at another shop the same night—without mentioning what MDP had said. That mechanic told us the brakes were great—pads were a little low, but totally fine for another month. Other shops we called also laughed at the idea that calipers would need replacing on such a new car.
I felt they were tying to scare me into unnecessary, expensive repairs. Very disheartening.

Very professional people. My car was looked at promptly as I was short of time. I sat in the waiting area and by the time I finished drinking coffee, diagnose was finished and the solution was given. It took them less than half an hour to order the part and installed it. Thank you.

Had a great experience with MPD Diesel and Auto Tech Center. They have a convenient after hours drop off. We did Service A for our 2025 Mercedes GLE 450e. Their service was quick, on time, and very reasonably priced.

Since moving to Ann Arbor last year and looking for someone to do regular maintenance on our vehicle we found MDP DIESEL and AUTO to be very efficient and giving feedback on any other maintenance needs. They were very reasonable on prices as well.

The entire staff was extemely kind,helpful,and efficient. Our wheelchair accessible vechicle needed many things serviced and within a short time frame, so our son didnt miss out on his summer activities . Without hesitation the owners Mike and Kim made that happen with ease!
