We found a robin in our backyard, we think it flew into a window. We took it here, they gave us a number so we could text to find out how it was doing.

My experience is from when this was bird rescue of Washtenaw county. I grew up a few miles from the original location and brought an abandoned duck when I was a kid and one time Carol even drove out to pick up a bird who was hit by a car. She never asked for anything and was very kind and caring. I was very sad to learn of her passing, but so glad the rescue is still going strong.

This place was super nice and accommodating. I had an injured bird and within seconds from arriving at the door, a nurse came out and took the bird and had some paperwork for me. By the time I finished the paperwork, she came back out and told me the bird was getting oxygen and administered some pain medication. You can genuinely tell every single person here is committed to the well being of an animal- especially birds which are more disregarded since they're not a "typical pet" i.e. dog/cat.Although my bird didn't have a happy ending from a severe fracture, I know the team here made their last moments comfortable and handled it with class and poise. Thanks again y'all!

5+ Stars .. This place is simply amazing! Im here visiting family and found an adolescent Robin with a mangled foot and couldn't fly. I sent a message late last night around 830pm. I did as directed online, put him in a box without food and water (where this may seem a bit harsh is is best for the bird for several hours) kept the bird in a area where it was about 75/80 degrees in a dim area, checked on him hourly, but I let him/her decompress. And was on our way at 830am. The location is beautiful. Very well maintained. And the staff member who helped was very friendly. You are encouraged to donate, but it is not required. By card cash or venmo. I honestly couldn't say enough good things about this bird rescue. Well worth the drive.

Thankful this place exists! I was in a pinch when I found an injured baby bird late in the evening. I had it wrapped up next to me in my car and all the other places i called didnt answer or werent taking birds at the time.As soon as i pulled up and talked to someone I knew the bird was in good hands. This place took the bird in, gave it pain medicine and gave me a number to receive updates.Great place, with great people doing great things.

This Common Grackle had a wing injury. They're VERY helpful and were on his care upon arrival. They give you a number to text or email to see how he's doing. I think that's nifty!

I'm so grateful they exist. They responded to my call, had me bring in the swift that my cat injured. They gave me details, a case # to follow up, and were generally just wonderful.

Found a baby bird last week in my backyard and couldn't find the nest. This place offered to take the bird and gave good instructions on how to care for the bird overnight prior to coming in. They also text updates to let you know how the bird is doing! The girls there were super nice

I've been volunteering here for over a year and it's been a fun and educational experience helping in the Bird Center's mission: rehabilitating wild birds and educating the public on the importance of conservation and bird safety. The Bird Center of Michigan takes in birds year round, but if they're not able to take in an injured/orphaned bird, they will helpfully give you the address of a wildlife rehabilitation center that will. They are always welcoming volunteers, so if you like birds and want to learn more, I highly recommend going to their website.

This place is incredible. Full of hard-working staff and interns, it’s a place I always recommend to friends in the area when they find an injured bird. The staff is knowledgeable and take great care of their birds (I once brought in a mallard). Super thankful the BC exists!!

My daughter found an injured bird. I told my husband to kill it and put it out of its misery. They both protested and insisted on saving it. They nursed it for a day or so and then I convinced them to bring a bird here . The people were rude and unfriendly, scolding us for having held the bird in our hands and took it away before my daughter got to say goodbye. In sum, they gave no concern to the humans who were trying to rescue the bird. Imagine what happens next time? Kind of working against their own cause. Step down from your high horse and show some compassion to the humans too (you need us to help you in your mission!)
