The employee/store manager would not accept my items for refund due to lack of barcode tags. Carter’s “Happiness Policy” (return policy) makes no mention of tags, specifies only that items be new and unworn. Purchases were made online, I had all necessary proof of purchase information, and items were exactly as they had been shipped.Forced to call Carter’s customer service, where they confirmed that my items should have been accepted for refund. Fortunately they facilitated my refund over the phone.Long story short, avoid Carter’s Ann Arbor; keep your shopping online and assistance via phone.

You web site says you are open. You door is locked and you have customers waiting at your door. It is 12:15. You are not getting business this way. And you don't answer your phone.

I had a stressful visit attempting to return/exchange items for store credit as no longer fit. Tags intact. I assumed that I had purchased them online months prior. After fervently checking my emails for the receipt since scanning tags didn’t show them in the system I concluded that I must have purchased them from Target (which was my next stop as there were other items definitely Target-based in my car. I thanked them for their assistance. As I was leaving the store I overheard them speaking under their breath and snickering at one another. I used self control that I normally don’t have in order to not lecture them both on their lack of maturity and professionalism. At this point I would rather drive an hour to Howell before walking back in this store. I am contacting corporate. They need to learn how to “adult”. At least wait until I exit the store before making fun of me. Rude

Good selection and fair prices. The staff even helped my wife order something online that they didn't carry in store.

This place has a pretty serious gender divide; one half carries pink clothing, the other blue. There's a mix of Carter's and OshKosh B'gosh. Same cash register for both. We have one kid and freely shop both sides of the store. The staff is friendly (if sometimes spread a bit thin), and generally knows where stuff is. The clothing itself is fine; similar to Target, sometimes not as nice as Gap, definitely not Patagonia. We buy a lot of T-shirts, socks, and underwear here, but go elsewhere for the one good snowsuit. Parking is usually easy, though there's a bunch of Plum Market traffic. A fine place.
