Larry/Illi's has been my mechanic for 20+ years. After my first visit I was hooked, because he always explained everything in a way that a non auto person could understand it, would offer other solutions to solve a problem if the first/best solution was too expensive for a broke student like me, and was just always friendly. But most importantly, they are fair and fast straight shooters, and I trust them implicitly. I've been to many mechanics in AA, and Illi's was the one that actually found the problems and fixed them correctly as opposed to just sending me off without clear guidance on what to do next...
I've since moved away from AA proper but I still bring my car in to them because I 100% trust them on all my cars!!

Had a really good experience—Really felt like Larry went out of his way to fit me in, even though he was basically booked solid. Very reasonable price for the work, which was done well AND done quickly.

The power steering on my brother's Jeep Patriot went out just as he arrived in Ann Arbor for a Labor Day visit. We didn't want him to drive back to Kalamazoo with auto issues, so I called around local mechanics to try to find somewhere that could help us quickly, knowing it'd be tough coming out of a holiday weekend. The owner Larry was so kind and helpful, and was able to locate the issue, order a replacement part, and do the repair in just a few days. The information was very thorough and the cost was extremely reasonable. I am grateful to have found Illi's and will definitely be a return customer! Thank you Larry & team!

I own a classic sports car, a 1992 Dodge Stealth twin turbo. The entire experience with Illi's was outstanding. As a mechanic myself (too old to do the work), I always appreciate professional people who care for my classic car!

This is the best private auto shop, anywhere. I take my collection of collector and daily driven vehicles here, exclusively. The quality of service and highest standards of excellence are unparalleled. And a more honest business owner you will never find. His business ethics are exemplary. You will never be sold on something that doesn’t need attention. The shop technicians have many years of quality ‘old school’ work experience. If they can’t fix it, it is unfixable. Work is done properly and done right the first time.

So far so great. Everyone I have spoken with there is friendly and they don't make me feel foolish when I ask simple questions. I am very happy with the service I have received and this is where I plan to come next time my car wants more attention.

Excellent, honest, affordable service. I recently brought my 14-year-old Ford here for what I feared might be an expensive engine repair. Larry and crew did a thorough assessment, quickly diagnosed the problem, and had the car running smoothly again the same morning I brought it in, at a very reasonable cost. Thanks for helping to keep my old car safely on the road!

I've been going to Illi's for a few years and I'm always happy with their work. I've never had to call for an update because they always reach out first. I feel confident that they are taking great care of my car and giving me honest and clear advice. I can't imagine taking my car anywhere else.
