The selection has gone way downhill in the last year or two. They used to have a great deli and meat counter. Now they're just like every other below-average store. Back when it was Hiller's, they would get lots of unique beers that were sold single bottle, now you're better off going to just about any other beer store. They have forms you can fill out to request that they stock new things. I'm pretty sure they just throw those away.
Edit 8 years later:
They've gotten even worse. They used to have 3 machines to return empties, now they have one and it's broken half the time. The deli counter is even smaller now, but it doesn't matter because it was never staffed anyway. The meat counter is just gone, but it doesn't matter because it was never staffed anyway. The meat selection is utter garbage. Who wants a thing cut sirloin? But that's all they have. The produce selection is next to nothing. They have one type of hot pepper, if it's in stock. They need to close this store and let someone decent open it back up and run it. RIP Hiller's.

The gentleman in the produce was very pleasant and helpful. That alone is worth five stars. On top of that, the two cashiers and grocery clerk at the checkout were talkative and friendly during the purchasing of my items. I’d give them 20 stars if I could. Thank You to the staff at Kroeger for making my day a great one.

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Alana at the Arborland Kroger, and I cannot say enough great things about her! She was responsible for delivering my groceries to my car, and from the moment she approached, her warm and cheerful demeanor was refreshing.
Customer service these days often feels rushed and impersonal, but Alana was the complete opposite—she genuinely cared about making my experience smooth and enjoyable. She not only greeted me with a smile but also took the time to educate me on how I can use bottle slips as coupons for drive-up orders—something I had never known before!
What truly set Alana apart was the care and attention she put into loading my groceries. She stacked everything so neatly and carefully in my backseat, ensuring nothing would tip over or get damaged. Unfortunately, I’ve had experiences at other stores where employees just toss the bags in without a second thought, but Alana handled my order with such professionalism and respect.
This experience was a reminder of how impactful great customer service can be. Alana is a true gem, and Kroger is lucky to have her! I will absolutely be returning to this location because of the outstanding service she provided. Thank you, Alana, for brightening my day!

This morning (1/26/2025) at around 10:00 AM, I visited this store and went through the U-Scan. I did not catch the name of the attendant. She was very friendly and incredibly helpful. She's a keeper.

I was putting my cart back tonight in the exit area and the older gentleman with the glasses came in with a load of carts to put back. I literally had nowhere to move to because of another customer in front of me and he proceeded to smile and push the carts into me while laughing like it was funny and intentional saying "excuse meeeee" while I calmly pointed out he was rude and needed to be more mindful.
I understand the need to do the job but running a whole line of carts into somebody is just ridiculous and I hope he is dealt with soon.

the manager of this store yesterday treated me like criminal and thief. i said hi to him he said nothing but gave me a nasty look. next thing i know hes on his walkie talkie or communicator radio telling his employees to watch me..you could here the loud sound of this radio going off to imtimidate me..some of the employees seem to be checking me out while i was shopping or following me! i have been going to this store longer then he has been there! this was the after 2pm -3pm yesterday if my memory is correct. it was embarrasing and i felt unnecessary. the next time i go there,i will just leave my backpack outside, since hes so paranoid and racist. he even had an employee look outside to see where i went . while i was unlocking my bike! at all times usual i was calm and ignored the whole situation, even though hated it. just talk to him. hes a burly tall man with business clothing on!

This place is kind of a mess. I always regret not going to Meijer instead when I decide to come to Kroger. The produce department is always out of multiple staple items and the store appears to be understaffed. Very long wait times to check out and all of the carts are frequently out in the parking lot. There are some very kind employees however.

This was my first visit to the Arborland Kroger, after more than 30 years of shopping at Traver Village Kroger. My shopping experience was excellent. The store is clean, well stocked, organized, not too large, and best of all, I had a cashier and a bagger! I will return to this location so that I can receive the services of a cashier and bagger. Self checkout was designed for small numbers of small items. I was very pleased to have a cashier today! The Arborland Kroger gets my vote!
