We really appreciate our time at Haven - it is such a beautiful and peaceful place for family to live. We in particular appreciate Jeff, who is so friendly all the time in helping us with home maintenance issues. He also went beyond in sending us mails that arrived after we moved out. The interactions with him have always been a pleasure. He made things so much easier for us.

The main office staff are completely unresponsive to resident concerns. Their only priority seems to be to rent out units but once you become a resident you are ignored. We’ve gone to the main office in person to voice concerns and been assured that action will be taken only for there to be no follow up whatsoever.
Edit: the replies from The Haven to bad reviews are for show only to lure future residents. Extremely disingenuous. Nothing actually changes for current residents. Will
be leaving at the end of our current lease.

I have been a resident at The Haven for more than a decade. The management maintains the property well. The maintenance crew is prompt, polite, and effective. The rent is fair. Most important, the management office is courteous, kind, and helpful. My cat got lost on the grounds recently, and Kelly, a leasing agent, circulated emails and coordinated action with a couple of the other tenants to find my cat and return him safely to me. Kelly's help went above and beyond the call of duty. Her generous kindness represents the spirit of the management staff at The Haven.

I was initially very interested in leasing a unit at The Haven of Ann Arbor—the property itself looked great and seemed like it could be a good fit. Unfortunately, my experience with the management team was extremely disappointing. Trying to get in touch with the property manager to ask even basic questions was incredibly frustrating. Communication was slow, inconsistent, and unprofessional, which left me with serious concerns about how issues might be handled if I became a tenant. Ultimately, I decided not to move forward with the lease solely because of the poor management experience. I hope the team improves their responsiveness and professionalism for future prospective residents.

My wife and I were seriously considering leasing at The Haven of Ann Arbor and spent several days selecting a unit. Things fell apart when we tried finalizing the deal. We were told the property manager could offer us a better price than what was listed on the website, but despite several emails and calls, we never heard back. Each time we were told she was “in a closed-door meeting” and that our messages would be “posted on her door.” Still nothing.
The front desk staff seemed totally unprepared, asking irrelevant questions and showing little understanding of our inquiry. We even overheard one calling a tenant who had already signed a lease, saying, “I hope you remember us.” That says it all.
The only helpful person was Kelly, who gave us the tour, but she had no authority to move anything forward and kept redirecting us to the unresponsive property manager.
The unit we wanted is still sitting on the market, now at a lower price. If they had simply followed up, we would’ve signed. If this is how they treat potential renters, I’d be concerned about how they treat actual tenants.

If you’re looking for a place to live, I would keep looking. This place is a huge scam and an absolute waste of your time. My partner and I applied during a rent special for a free first month. After sending over multiple different forms for the application process which weren’t even needed, we were essentially ghosted. Any time we called it was sent straight to voicemail and they never replied. If we wanted to get any information on why it was taking so long, we would have to physically show up at the office. One month later after applying we finally got our lease and the rent special wasn’t even included anymore. Another week later of no call backs I show up to ask why and they said that we never even qualified despite being told the day we applied that we did. I asked for a refund since they misinformed us and they said they couldn’t because it was past the 72 hours from when we applied. So even if we wanted a refund we had no way of knowing that we didn’t qualify BECAUSE THEY NEVER ANSWERED THE PHONE!! They didn’t even offer any sort of compensation for the miscommunication such as a lower deposit or anything. So not only did they waste our time and leave us to start over when our current lease ends in 2 weeks but they also scammed us out of a free month and all of the fees that we had to pay (btw application fee is $85 when the legal limit is $50 for Ann Arbor). So to anyone looking for a place to live, don’t give this place a cent or any of your time. The Scam of Ann Arbor.

We are looking to move to the area and this complex looked very nice from the photos online, we decided to drive trough and I’m glad we did because the outsides of the buildings are disgustingly dirty the siding is all green on some buildings and the overall outsides of the building’s are very dirty they definitely need to invest in some power washing, seems like management hasn’t done a good job keeping up the cleanliness especially for the prices they are charging, we will definitely not be looking to move here because if they don’t care about what the outside looks like I can only imagine the insides.

A lot of these reviews are actually for maintenance and not the overall complex, because if a maintenance request is resolved, the feedback survey goes to Google reviews (lol).
The apartments themselves are decent, with a fair amount of variation between units in finishing and in price. The property itself has a nice pond and good location near parks.
The management has a tendency to not inform residents of changes—we sometimes have fairly last-minute inspections, we were told only about a week before Christmas that January 1 rent would be a physical check instead of the rent portal because of new ownership (without the final cost being available yet), and now we're told days before February rent is due that our insurance policies must be updated for yet another interested party so that we don't get automatically signed up for another renter's insurance company (that I'm sure someone makes money off of). When questions are asked about these surprises, it's hit-or-miss on if a response will be received. I feel like I'm working for the Haven with the hoops I need to jump through for poor communication.

For some odd reason they won’t email your bills anymore after move-out so if you don’t give them a forwarding address they will send your final utility bill to a shady debt collections agency that doesn’t notify you of your collections account before reporting it to the credit bureaus. This place is not worth the eventual tank to your credit score over a $95 water bill. Ridiculous.

More like the scam of Ann Arbor. I applied for an apartment on October 26th and still haven’t heard anything yet, and didn’t hear anything for a week and a half. Then I asked for my $230 back, and they approved my application so they wouldn’t have to give me my money back. They put the wrong name on the lease as well. Save yourself the headache and look somewhere else.

I lived at the Haven for a year. They do not abide by the terms of the lease nor does the management respond. The ownership of the apartment is your typical money hungry corporation that preys on college students and young professional.

The Haven is a pleasant place to stay. Management here however is insufferable. They will charge you late payments after less than 3 days with no reminder. Don't expect any helpful maintenance either.
