I am very satisfied! The staff at varsity are very attentive, always providing hot drinks and snacks. It feels so warm coming back from the cold outside in winter!

Definitely not recommend. The management is not very reasonable and unwilling to listen to the community when it comes to amenities and such. They can also be condescending when asking questions. Also, the construction site near the building will start making noise from 7 a.m. in the morning from Monday to Friday, accompanying by the noise from the trash truck every day since 5 a.m. My nervous breakdown is getting worse when living here, and it ruined my whole semester and my job search. The building is hollow, so there's little soundproofing, if you don't sleep well, do not live here. I know of more than one person who moved away because of the noise problem, but the property only told them it was their problem. I pay so much money every month, but get such bad living conditions and service, it is not worth it.

Absolutely recommend checking out the Varsity! I went to take a tour recently, and I was toured by Theresa. Not only did she show me the amenities and the model unit, but she also explained the whole process of applying, told us about what was included in the rent and fees, as well as answered all of our questions. She made us feel so welcomed and like we were touring our new home. When we were going through the application process, there were a couple of steps we were confused on. However, when we called, Justin helped talk us through those steps and answered a couple of clarifying questions while we were on the phone. He was so nice and also helped us sign the lease quickly, which made us so relieved. Leasing in Ann Arbor was really stressful and confusing for us, but they really helped us and made it a little less stressful, and we couldn’t thank them enough! Highly recommend the Varsity!!

I’ve been helping out my little sister lately with finding housing in Ann Arbor and it was so confusing. We called a couple of places to help us, but most of the responses were just prices and terms, which can be found on their website, which wasn’t as helpful because we were confused as to why we couldn’t be guaranteed a spot until February or March and where we could get the most bang for our buck. When we called the varsity, Theresa was so helpful to explain the Ann Arbor ordinance and answer all of our questions in detail instead of telling us to look at the website. Also, when we went to take a tour, Justin was so warm and welcoming and made us feel right at home. Thank you so much to the varsity team, especially Theresa and Justin; you made this process so much easier for us!

On December 22, 2023 at approximately 12 noon, I was excited about renting 2 different apartments for both my daughters at the (Varsity) located at: 425 E. Washington St, Ann Arbor Michigan, 48104, until I walked in to inquire information from a young lady sitting at a desk to the immediate right upon entering the lobby. She was very rude, unknowledgeable and racist. That was a warning sign for me to leave the premises and rent somewhere else for both of my daughters.

I lived in the Varisty for two years. I loved living here! It was such a great community, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to stay two academic years. Justin, the leasing manager, made signing the lease and securing the apartment a breeze. The staff and community assistants, such as Theresa and Kate, are always happy to help residents however they may need, and they even organize fun little events or goodies to the residents to help build community. Can’t understate how much I loved this place! Also, they have a two-level fitness center complete with peloton bikes and lifting equipment. Super convenient perk for gym rats who hate walking to the gym in the Michigan winters.

I have loved living at the Varsity for 3 years and it is truly the best off-campus student housing option. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, especially Justin Pierce in the leasing office. They also have wonderful community assistants like Theresa Carrier who make their community events very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend living here!

Constant interruptions by maintenance on a weekly or biweekly basis. You can’t focus on your work or feel comfortable to walk around in a towel because they come in so often. Even when they knock, a few seconds is hardly enough time to wrap up what you are doing, what if it was an important interview? Once in a while is understandable but literally every week? Cannot even have privacy in your own apartment, there cannot be so many things broken that warrant such frequent unannounced walk-ins

Living here was the best choice I made! Stayed for 3 years in a one bedroom, never had any issues. I recommend Varsity completely!!!

the kitchen and living room area of my apartment has no electricity. I used the emergency maintenance line and they couldn't help me. absolutely what is the point then. not the best of the high rise and definitely shows for being one of the cheaper ones. the gym is one of the better ones and the study floor and roof lounge aren't too bad. the free stuff is given once in a while and not as often as my experience at arbor blu. currently hungry sitting in a dark living room without a working kitchen. how nice.

Living here was absolutely wonderful, well worth the price relative to other apartments nearby. There is always events going on every week at the first floor such as pizza day or taco day and I haven’t seen any other apartment do events as often as Varsity. Varsity is close by to state street as well so target is a quick option to get groceries. Also, the staff is very friendly and welcoming and especially Justin – always chatting with him in the front office before I go out to class and also helped me get through my reletting process.

Son lived there 1 year. I have to say the service charges are silly. 14 water/sewer plus monthly $6 admin fee. But the kicker is my son turned his keys in a month early, balance paid account closed. Then we get a $4.00 balance due. Try to pay the bill but now must go through creating an account all over again and they want bank information. Not happening. I paid with a CC and the "surcharge fee" is $8. He liked the location and amenities, but having to monthly go to yet another account to look up sewer/water fees, then blindly pay them to Varsity - and have to pay a "service fee" 12 months is a slap in the face.$4. What a joke.

This property accepts applications for actual unavailable units. They claim the application was open for short term lease but it is clear that the annual lease term was offered. On the second day, your application will be closed and fees ($325) will not be refunded.I found a similar comment from Monica Vaisman below. Unfortunately, no improvements have been made since 3 months ago. This is worse than VIC. At least they did not charge me anything for attempting to apply to unavailable units.(If the owner wants to response, please be specific about the measure you are about to take instead of referring me to some "leasing office")
