I have been a member for 12 years and I went in to withdrawal a large amount of cash to help pay for things around the house and they REFUSED to give me cash and demanded that I provide a contract for services to be paid to give me MY money. I even called the day before to let them know I needed to withdraw it and they said no problem. I went to the Jackson Ave branch and the manager flat out refused to give me MY cash without a contract to prove what I was using MY money for. And then when I made a phone call to my mother to let her know I was running late for our theater reservations the bank manager demanded to know who I was talking to!! All they kept saying is that they were protecting me from fraud…well, thank you very much but it’s MY money and if I want to take out cash and stuff it in my mattress, I have every right to do that with MY money!! I would HIGHLY recommend banking elsewhere!

Alex was so helpful, friendly and personable! I forgot my wallet and she was able to go through the id process with me so I could still make my cash withdrawal. So happy you’ve got such great staff at my home branch!

I really wanted to like UMCU because it is a credit union. I have had a personal account since 2009 and a business account since 2018. They are absolutely terrible for business owners. A large swath of their staff is not educated in tax wires or paycheck issues. The same swath never bend over backwards to help you or to ask a supervisor who could help them learn more. There are a few excellent representatives and managers, which is why I am giving them two stars. Chase, Flagstar, Chime, and Quickbooks all have better support for business and personal use (Chime being for personal and others for business).
