Fell into Rogue trader original space. Marine box set at ryder's hobby shop in nineteen eighty nine.... First edition, fifth edition. 8th edition and now tenth edition... A lot of fun and a lot of money.A great hobby.Josh is amazing.He goes out of his way to take care of you. Whatever your citadel niche maybe.

Store was closed and they didn't update hours online. This is the second warhammer store I've been to that this has happened. Ridiculous, waste of time

I brought my husband here for his birthday. He is just getting into Warhammer 40k. We made a trip from Lansing, which was totally worth it! Josh, the store operator, was a wealth of knowledge, very polite, and just nice to talk with. He encouraged reaching out to him in person or with the store phone number to ask any questions we may have in the future.The store had a vast collection of models to choose from and was fun to look at. We made a sizable purchase to start an army. Thanks for your help, Josh!

I'm new to all this Warhammer stuff and super nervous to admit that I'm into the world/lore/ maaaaaaaaaybe character model building around my friends. Walking into this store I felt a lot better about my choices because the dude who runs it is normal, down to earth, and super relaxed. I've been to 5 or 6 stores now and left before buying at half of them because I was too anxious from the energy in the room. Anyway, I like this guy. He's cool.

There are two kinds of GW stores; this is the good kind.The manager, Josh, has a genuine love of the hobby and will enthusiastically mentor newcomers and advise old grognards in building, painting, and list-building. More than once he's stated a desire to make it a center of the hobby community where everyone is welcome and comfortable, and I do believe he's succeeded.The shop's regulars are also a credit to the hobby, with the painters and the players alike being welcoming of newcomers. The painters are happy to show off their own work and gush over yours (or offer tactful advice, if you need it - I've yet to see someone be rude about this), while the players take quite well to polite observation and inquiries about their games (and if you catch them between games, will happily talk tactics with you).Then, of course, there's the true test of any hobby store: What happens when you bring your wife. In the bad kind of stores, you come away with horror stories about poorly-socialized nerds acting unpleasantly - which is why most experienced hobbyists scout ahead before bringing in their better halves. Here? She was greeted just like any other customer and soon got into a discussion about Space Wolf lore. She even had fun.I'll be honest, at this point this place is pretty much the only reason I'm still in the hobby and buying GW product. It represents the best in Games Workshop.
