I only come here when things I need is on sale :) They used to have the sliced short ribs at like $8.19/lb, but unfortunately with all the prices going up, it's now like $9.59/lb when on sale. The other thing I like to buy here is the sumo oranges, while Meijer and Kroger also sells them, don't know what it is, but the ones at Whole Foods are double the size!Of course, best place to drop off your Amazon Returns :)

Went to Whole Foods yesterday (1/3/24) on my lunch break to grab some soup and/or food from the hot bar. My Verde Chicken soup was good until this wound up in my mouth! What in heaven's name is that? The fact that I had already consumed some spoonfuls of the soup just made matters worse. Had I swallowed any pieces of that "thing"? To say I was disgusted and nauseous is an understatement. I went back to the store after my shift ended to show them what I had encountered. Initially the employee tried to reason that it was a mushroom. Nice try, I know what mushrooms look, feel, and taste like. This had the texture of silicone. Then he said it was likely a piece of calamari. I'm not inclined to believe that was what it was either. I will say the employee was polite and helpful while handling this situation. I was given a refund as well as a $20 gift card. I appreciate the gesture, I'm just not sure I'd feel comfortable taking the risk of going back. When I got home that evening I showed my boyfriend, who manages a commercial kitchen, the photo. He immediately turned green. He said he knew what it was. He said it's the food debris that gets caught in the dishwasher lines/seals that aren't being properly cleaned out regularly. I immediately got sick again. Regardless of what it actually was, it's completely unacceptable in food service. How in the world did that end up in food being served to the public? That's absolutely horrible!! Whole Foods please please do not let something like this just go. There needs to be some serious action taken in your kitchen and food preparation environment.*warning* Some people may find the following image disturbing.

They did not have the things I needed, and the staff seemed to be upset when I asked for help!

Always a great experience. This time we were solely there to get lunch via the hot bar. Great wide selection of items, many a little less than perfect as we were sort of off lunch time and they must have been sitting there for a little bit but still an entirely satisfactory experience, we will certainly be back!
