These apartments are advertised as “luxury” but really if you took away the Amazon hub, dog wash, and the insane rent prices they’re just regular overpriced apartments. There is not a single elevator on the premises. My third floor neighbor broke her leg and has to crutch her way up three floors because while building, they decided that accessibility is not as important as having an on-site dog spa. She also had to hire a dog walker because it’s too difficult to get up and down the stairs on crutches with a dog. There is a $35/month charge (that is not optional!) for Valet trash that doesn’t get picked up at least once a week. Also, half of the community isn’t aware that valet trash doesn’t come Fridays & Saturdays, so your apartment hallways smell like dirty diapers 75% of the time! I’ve taken my own trash out multiple times because of the inconsistent schedule, but have not once been refunded/credited the $35.Water is also not included in your rent & your showers will be hot for a minimum of 10 minutes. There is a security app to use to get into the building, receive deliveries and calls, and there’s a surveillance feature to be able to see who is ringing your apartment.. The app crashed and hasn’t worked properly since. I can open the door but the surveillance has not worked since July.We had a stretch where there were FIVE Sundays in a row where “emergency maintenance” was not available and our smoke alarms were randomly going off. Nobody was cooking, smoking, or lighting anything on fire. They just started going off… 5 weeks in a row. We attempted to contact maintenance multiple times, and they didn’t get back to us until the following week, asking if there was a problem with our fire alarms. These smoke alarms do not have a button you can press to turn them off, you have to unscrew them from the ceiling. We did just that and then were told that maintenance had to come in and fix the fire alarms… days after the issue was resolved. They came in to “fix them” and then we were told we would be fined if we messed with the smoke alarms again…..? Even after explaining that they were going off for HOURS and nobody could help us.Units start at $2,000 month but brace yourself to pay almost double that when you get hit with $400-$500 DTE bills between November & March. The most absurd part about that is that we asked our leasing agent about those $400 DTE bills during our initial tour because we had seen other tenants complaining about them online. We were told, rest assured, that it was being handled and that we would not have any shockingly high DTE bills. If we did experience such an issue we would be given a credit. When we saw our first high bill in November we changed everything… Thermostat was not to be set higher than 70, unplugging things that are not being used, and on top of that- we FROZE during the winter!!!! Our unit is located on top of a garage. My bedroom does not get warm. We racked up $1500 in DTE bills in 3 months. We have tried contacting the leasing office multiple times but they do not respond to emails or texts, nor do they answer the phone. I’m sure I will get a response to this review encouraging me to reach out to management with my concerns, but I already have!!I will say, aside from scraping cash together every months to afford to live here, I have lived pretty comfortably. I do feel safe here and it is an extremely nice location. I would assume that’s how they get away with charging you absurd rent prices. I’d love to resign the lease here but no longer can afford to!! Highly encourage you to take a look at other properties in the area before selling yourself on this one.

I am a current tenant that decided to move in despite the complaints of outrageous electric bills initially I did not like the fact that this is a newly built building and that they have no elevators also the butterfly system to get in the building was often down for a few weeks to months which defeats the purpose of security the valet trash that you HAVE to pay monthly is often missed doesn’t come even everyday.. upon moving in I asked them about the high electric bills they then processed to tell me that it is an ongoing issue and that they have been issuing credits to tenants that are facing that issue due to the meters connected to the building being installed incorrectly now tenants have to pay for their mistake! LOOK ELSEWHERE I called them a few days ago when I got my December bill from DTE they asked me to call DTE when they know this an issue with them! and they we not accommodating whatsoever first they asked me to send current and months prior bill and then they claim all other tenants matching my size apartments adds up to be around $331 for a 2 bed room 2 bath just for an electric bill do not let these people lie to you in the leasing office they will not be helpful or understanding Cameron and Kristin were not helpful at all just kept asking if I had any other concerns brushing off how high the bills is due to winter months and Tim and Tamika must have lied about the credit that they would offer due to the issues with the buildings. A complaint will be placed with the better businesses bureau as well.NOW ALSO having an issue with black mold growing in the bathroom I have put in multiple maintenance request and they can care less all they do is clean it off like I can’t do that myself and then the maintenance repainted the trim it was painted with a completely different color now it looks tacky when I first moved in I noticed the issue but thought it may have just been something on the trim that needed to be cleaned because they stated after the people moved prior they needed to do a cleaning come to find out it was orange mold growing by the shower floor trim now it is also black mold growing behind the trim and I called again because nobody still has came to replace the trim for a request that was submitted a week ago I called and spoke to the worst MANAGER very rude and brushes you off wants to go back and forth and make it seem like I don’t know what the hell I’m talking about stated “we don’t just come and clean off mold for you” HOW??! You are in property management and I am a tenant that’s RENTING from y’all calling about mold that was already growing in here ..the mold does not need to be cleaned y’all need to find where it’s coming from and replace the entire thing or it will continue to grow back at this point could not even give me an estimated time frame as to when this will be resolved next they will be reported to the city for an inspection this is just insane save your money the headache and time!

Fountain Circle is on the top of my apartment shopping list. Modern, clean, and top-notch amenities can't be beat. Another bonus is it is walking distance to downtown Auburn Hills, which I love. In the office, Cameron was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Hoping to make it my next home!

Do not rent here!! The property is under new management and they do not keep their word, nor do they care about their tenants. All they care about is money.

Where should I begin? If you enjoy marijuana filled hallways, frequent pool closures (due to the health department), police activity, poorly built apartments, a goose poop covered “pet area”, constant smoke alarm malfunctions (big safety issue), and the drainage hole with a fountain… then this is the place for you! I’m not one to write bad reviews, but hopefully you won’t waste your time and money at Fountain Circle Apartment Homes. We were fortunate not to experience the high DTE bills (over $400.00/month) and AC/furnace outages, but multiple of our neighbors did. On top of all the above, they kept our security deposit after we moved out. I know they will respond below saying that we didn’t give 30 days notice which is outlined in the “lease agreement”… and yes, we didn’t give an official 30 days notice, but we were in close communication with the property manager and had multiple conversations in the office about our situation. All the management company (M. Shapiro) cares about is $$$$$. They don’t care about their tenants at all.
