Teachers beware…I’ve had the unfortunate experience of dealing with this home insurance company, and I cannot express how disappointed I am with their service. From the moment I contacted them, it became evident that they were employing fake sales tactics and shady standards.First and foremost they promised the moon but failed to deliver on even the most basic coverage. It's clear that they prioritize making a sale over providing adequate protection to their customers.Furthermore, their customer service was abysmal. It is clear they care more about their bottom line than helping their policyholders in times of need.I also discovered that their fine print was intentionally vague, making it easy for them to deny claims based on arbitrary interpretations. It's a blatant example of their unethical practices.I strongly advise against choosing this home insurance company. Their horrible service, fake sales tactics, and shady standards make them a company that cannot be trusted to protect your home and assets. Look elsewhere for insurance providers that value honesty and customer satisfaction.Insurance for educators and staff- run fast!Protect your property and love ones : hardly!Supporting faculty and staff : phfff

MEEMIC is an absolute pain. We’ve share a multigenerational house with my folks who are in their 70’s for 14 years. Not only does MEEMIC require them to pay an additional cost and carry us on their policy (even though we have shown proof of our OWN full coverage) they require us to submit proof of health insurance twice yearly. They will waive the fee for us if WE go with MEEMIC as our own insurance. Hah! As an educator who has watched them take advantage of my elderly parents - not in a million years would I switch to MEEMIC! Too many hoops, charging for things they have no right to and poor customer service (we haven’t’t spoken with a friendly MEEMIC agent in years).

They are HORRIBLE! Stay AWAY! They start out fine, knowing they will play games with you with their deception. Then they make it look like your fault and yet after 3 years of doubling the costs of insurance with a surprise audit. We had another company come in and show us how they play their games and cook the books to bleed you for more money. EXTREMELY dishonest! Again, Stay far away from these crooks.

We just signed on with Meemic and they made the entire process so seamless and easy. We worked with Eric and he was professional, courteous and extremely prompt with any questions we had. Can't recommend him enough.

I’ve been with Meemic for about 12 years and they were amazing at collecting my payments each month. My issue began when I filled a claim. The adjuster and title department are HORRIBLE. They’re treating me like enemy #1 trying every single thing they can to avoid paying my claim. I’ve never experienced such horrible customer service from the claim department. I’m extremely disappointed.

This company had been wonderful to us until recently. Please see my husband's Facebook post below. I have uploaded pictures as well."I hit a raccoon two Mondays ago. It went up under the vehicle and damaged the condenser, radiator, and oil pan. We filed a claim with Meemic insurance company which has been great to us in the past. However, this time is drastically different.They have since told us they will only cover it as collision and not comprehensive. In fact, the manager's exact words were 'A raccoon may have been involved, but it didn't cause the damage.' They didn't even offer a scene inspection. They initially accused me first of going off the road because there was mud and gravel up under the hood (I live on a dirt road and it had been raining when I turned around to drive it home). They kept telling us the damage was not consistent with our story as they could not find hair or blood. They kept coming up with reasons to not cover the vehicle under comp. As you can see from the pictures, my radiator fluid suggests I never went off the road. I went to the end of the street, turned around, and drove home. I would warn anyone to do business with this company after this experience. We also hold our home owner's policy through them and I think we will be leaving as soon as this claim is closed."

Horrible Customer Service!! You can never get through to someone and will always have to leave voice mail message. When a representative calls you back from this location, it is as if they are speaking to you like you are friends of some sort. There is no introducing of names and the representative always has an attitude. I am so glad that I switched companies. Trying to get required documents sent to you via email will be a hassle and it definitely shouldn't be this way. You will most likely have to contact corporate for your concern. Poor customer service.

I have had one positive insurance claim experience and one poor billing experience. My claim was handled well. My recent billing experience was not. I got sent an extra premium bill for not signing a form they indicated was sent that I didn’t receive. The lag time between being notified of the premium increase and not being able to sign it retroactively was disappointing because it cost me additional money. I now know about the form so I can request it if I don’t receive it. That should avoid this premium bill trap in the future. This was the rare customer service fail and my overall view of the company is positive.

DON’T FALL FOR THEIR LOW RATES! AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!As a teacher, I appreciate companies that want to help teachers, but I do not think MEEMIC does. This past August, as many well know (it was a national news story), a tornado touched down where I live. There were very high winds, torrential rains, etc. I wondered about roof damage, as I was missing siding on the rear of my home. After a pre-inspection from a roofing company, there was some damage to warrant filing a claim. I did so with MEEMIC August 23, 2021. After numerous calls, It took them nearly two weeks just to schedule their inspector. Their inspection was delayed for weeks due to more severe weather. Mind you, my neighbor NEXT DOOR, as well as several neighbors(4-5) on my same street, had their insurance companies inspect and REPLACE their entire roofs within about two weeks! Meanwhile, I’m still trying to get an inspection! I finally got an inspection OCTOBER 1, over a month after the initial claim. After the inspection, after no communication, I call and am told that an engineer needs to do an inspection. What?! They’re willing to pay an outside engineering firm to do another inspection?! None of my neighbors, who weathered the SAME storm, had this happen to them. The engineer didn’t come until October 26, more than TWO MONTHS after the initial claim! Now, it is November 3, and MEEMIC just reviewed the engineer’s report and now want to send it for further review to other engineers!! I do not understand how my neighbors sustained wind damage but I did not. It sounds like they do not want to pay. Shame on Meemic, they are willing to pay outside contractors before helping a loyal customer who has never submitted any claims. I have been a customer for nearly twenty years and this is how I’m treated? I will cancel them ASAP and move on as this is how they treat their customers.If I could rate them 0 stars I would, just avoid them!

Do not get this insurance. It's fine until you have a claim. I had a theft in June. I called and talked to the rudest most uncooperative adjuster. It appears he is working from home. After attempting to file a theft claim he told me my police report and information was vague. I don't need to know who you are I need to know the individuals who took your stuff. He also said i needed receipts booklets describing the items pictures contracts etc. Really? Ok went back to the pilice to request they redo the report of course they declined. The report was listed as domestic it was theft and should have been investigated by a detective not a uniform officer. Everyone was envolved in this one including the State of Michigan. Even the state police and a lawyer or two.. All said too far to investigate even for my adjuster. I am doing his work gathering information while he sits at home. As for the cops they really don't care. They either wont help or can't help. They all need to be disbanded and defunded. It would save taxpayers a lot of money.

Horrible customer service. Tried charging me $1400 per month to cover 4 cars. One car is PLPD, and two are full coverage on older cars, and one is for a 2022 crossover. I called and tried to have them get me a better deal, but they never called back. Terrible company.
